Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread
Hello, my name's ProgrammerInProgress, but thats really just my YouTube name, so if you like you can just call me sharpy23 or sharpy which is basically my username for everything else.
I've watched all of the videos on your YouTube channel, and and i'm really impressed, I'm also a programmer (just if you couldn't tell that from my username ) and I program in C++ at the moment (and VB for college).
I'm probably taking a degree in computer science next year, and i'm basically just messing around with code at the moment, in my spare time (which I have very little at the moment, due to my A2 work)
Thats just a little bit about me, I hope I can add something to the forums, and i'll probably be online as much as I can!

I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!

Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread
welcome, from the short time I've actually been here its a really nice place especially for the programming aspect. I'm currently a computer science major myself, i have always felt programming to be more of a hobby then actual work though so i normally call myself the lazy programmer. Anyway i'm rambling its definitely nice to meet you.

Hello everybody!
My name is SD021 but you can call me Shane. I am 15 years old and from Ireland. I know Visual Basic fairly well and have been coding in it for just over a year and a half. I am in the process of learning C++ and would absolutly love to get into game development.
So yeah hi :D

You've definitely come to the right place. We've grown exponentially since the launch of our site. We also feature several prominent Youtubian Indie developers and even a commercial developer from EA.
Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread
Hey welcome yeah the forums have become more active since the site launch.
Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread
Hey forum!
I thought id find a topic like this somewhere, found it finally. :P
Well, my Cblyakov and i'm a soon to be (hope to be) software programmer. Only fourteen but that doesn't mean much at all, but i've wanted to make games for a long time now. I'm trying to learn C++ right now, and it's progressing but I didn't want to confide in mere text in a book so that lead me to go to YouTube. (and troll...if i'm using the term right...)
Soon I found GyroVorbis and his fellow friends, that got me thinking because i've always wanted to go for the multi-millionare type game development corportations but after watching a few of them I realized that maybe being indie or even small business is what's best. I hope to provide as much as I can to the forum, and I hope some will be nice to help me as I learn game development and programming. Thanks!
I usually tend to get nervy too when I join an open forum, especially ones like this. Don't want to fuck up and ruin anything now! @.@

Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread
Hi I'm ChrissyJ91 and I 'm currently learning to program in C as my first language. I recently started making a text based adventure game with my friend who will be doing most of the programming whilst I focus on the actual design. I intend to start doing youtube videos when we have a little more to show and when I have the time because my A-levels are currently sapping all my free time.

Whee look at all the new users! Hello! Welcome!
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Join the club :DChrissyJ91 wrote:my A-levels are currently sapping all my free time.
I'm doing my A-level Computing assignment, but it's structured in a way that makes it feel almost like i'm doing IT, with a little bit of code thrown in... then again, that could be because i'm at the analysis stage of the coursework, all i'm saying is there is something distinctly GNVQ ICT about the whole project that makes me want to scream when I think back to that course!
