Actually, all this Golvellius talk made me want to play the Golvellius for the Master System... I looked in my collection and I didn't have it! =( (I was pretty damned sure that I did have it)
I just purchased it from ebay, so maybe in a couple of days I'll be enjoying it once again

Hearing things like this make me feel like I might not die alone after all. Maybe there is somebody for me out there, haha.
I'll find the girl who would "give me some" for doing something with Elysian Shadows some day!

Hey kids!
What lasts 2 minutes and is guaranteed to disappoint?
(No, not sex with me...)

Randar is awesome and that video doesn't disappoint at all. Favorite part was randars animation, so simple yet so cool.

So what is your next step as far as implementing new things go? Also, I haven't actually played Golvellius, but you are staying really true to the original, aren't you? Is the dialog the same too?

haha. Rio gets straight to the point. No beating around the bush.
Wait.. How did you know I had no gold??
She's a pro at.. whatever she does.. With that rack of her, I can only guess..

Up next, I think I might tackle enemy AI. It seems like the next logical step for me. The moles can attack, but they're dumb. I need melee style enemies to charge after the player and deal out some damage.
And yeah, the dialog is the same as the original. (Except for Randar's responses to Yes / No, but that'll be fixed)

Thanks, I really wasn't sure how I was going to animate him. He's static in the original, and it's hard to animate a sphere with feet.
I was afraid it might be too cutsie, but I was inspired by the little monkey from Megaman Legends.

Actually, I was wondering if that was the case. I saw him, and I was like "whoah, reminds me of Data from MML." I was going to ask you about it, but I was then thinking "naw, I don't know enough about Golvellius to draw a conclusion like that."
But yeah, it does look really badass. The portals also give me a nostalgic Phantasy Star Online-esque feeling (in my pants!)

guilty.
I've been squeezing in some PSO these days. The hunter's guild is out of missions for me, so I gotta figure out where to go next. I might get to play time in this weekend.
Anyways, you're right, that's where I got the idea for the particle effect coming from the teleports. In the original Golvellius, they're just holes, so I wasn't sure how to make it work for 3D. To test I just used the hole that the moles create, but it looked kinda dumb, and they were hard to find. I kinda think the particle effect makes it look too futuristic, and less like ruins. Ah well, I can always tweak it.

I freakin love PSO. I think I have spent the most time with PSO then any online game.
I've played PSU a lot too, on the 360, but I have recently quit paying my license a few months ago =P

I didn't plan on uploading this until this weekend, but I'm home sick today so what the hell. :P
I took Marcel up on his idea and made a Falco-inspired sped-up "making of" video for 3D character modeling.
This was actually alot of fun to make. It forced me to learn some video editing. Who knew that Windows comes with this nifty little program called "Movie Maker"? It got the job done.
As Marcel mentioned, my computer sucks. The harddrive is only 20 gig, so I had to make this in chunks. I had to record a large section, speed it up into something smaller and delete the larger file. Now that's some ghetto shit, but it worked!

I thought you were sick as hell? That's hardcore, dude. It'll be the first thing that I check out when I get home in a few hours.

The video was done, so all I had to do was upload it. I still feel like shit, but I'm trying to stay awake so I can sleep tonight. :P
