Dreamcast can play ROMs, right?

As far as I know, the Dreamcast can play ROMs of they're burnt onto a disc along with the appropriate emulator in some special way. I'm not sure how it all works out, but I'm pretty sure it can be done.

Would it be possible for someone to do that with RPG Maker 2000? Some incredible games have come from that community, and I would very much like to be able to play them on a console. My question is, would it be possible, and if so, would anyone be willing to try it?

Yes, if there is a Dreamcast emulator for the console you'd like to play. Most pre 16 and 16-bit consoles/handhelds are emulated (along with lots of others). Then there are alot of other wierd things that're emulated too.

It would be possible if the creaters of the RPG maker released the source code. It'd have to be carefully ported to the Dreamcast, but it's probably 100% possible.

It's not gonna happen.

RPG maker 2000 is an illegal translation of a commercial RPG maker only released in Japan. It's not open-source so no one will be able to port it.

Doubt it. We'll have to send one of you guys as spies to seek out a random computer located somewhere on the earth and copy the source... with paper and pencil. Oh, and you'll have to find it yourselves.

You volunteer? Even if you didn't, I had already selected you, Catalyst, as the one who would make the journey. I will give you a can of spam and cheap crackers to aid you on your grand adventure. Ask of nothing more.

(The crackers are cheap because they have a water mark on them)
