SuperComputing Project

In Super Computing/Advanced C programming, the main part of the class is creating a project and presenting it to some sort of technology league for Alabama. The winners recieve a full year scholarship.

People have gotten that scholarship from our school by nothing more than mere DOS console calculating programs. As a matter of fact, the only thing that gets entered into the competitions are DOS console applications.

Imagine how amazing it'd be for the judges to get done juding somebody's stupid Black-Hole calculating program and step to the next booth where some kids are busting out their Mexican to David Bowie with a set of maracas for the Sega Dreamcast?

Anyway, yeah, my group and I are making some sort of a platformer in SDL and (I at least) will port it to DC. It'd look really cool to have the PC version set up with the DC running next to it (running alot better too).

Are you going to use Ernest Pazera's core structure? The judges might find it more appealing than a custome one.

Awsome! As long as the judges don't accuse the Dreamcast of being an apple, it's all good!

I think they'd be too stupid to appreciate it though. They're probably so used to DOS console things like:

Code: Select all

Enter the distance:
Enter the wind speed:
Enter the air temperature:
The time of your flight would be:
I'm actually absolutely positive that they're more than too used to that kind of stuff. The question is whether they're stupid enough to define that as a "standard" and disregard things that aren't scientific-y like that (even though a game is a helluva lot more math/science based than a calculator) or not.

Well, do you know the rules for the contest? Are they wanting you to do random math equations and then make a program quickly calculate or can it be anything?

You should ake something really gorey and violent, and take a bunch of your teacher's faces and use them as villains. That'd be hilarious.
