Oh lord, DS will own the PSP!

I've been quite a fan of playstation ever since it started, but since playstation 2 has come out, I've lost lots of respect. Having to pay for a multitap, much worse (technologically) than its competitors (lamecube, x-box). The only reason people liked PS2 was because lots of people liked PSone. That is the reason Dreamcast died. I love Dreamcast...

Now, its time Sony learns. All that they did was boast their asses off about semi-nonrealistic numbers at E3. They are going to get a swift kick in the nuts when they go up against Nintendo in handhelds. Nintendo has practically monopolized the handheld market for a decade. Not even PSP's prestige is going to knock that.

Then, I also wanna bitch more about PSP. The damn thing is too heavy. Its weight will make it awkward, and one of the representatives of sony even admitted to a 2-3 hour battery life. Sure, it may play movies. But not how you think. You wanna buy the same movie again so you can watch it on your PSP? NO! Okay, maybe a little more powerful and better graphics. Only graphic whores are going to care. Gameplay makes a game.

The DS is both light and has a HELL OF A LOT LONGER battery life. I thought it was like 10-12 hours. The games so far, are going to kick ass. 2 Metroid games, another 2D Mario game, a Semi-remake of Super Mario 64?

The biggest factor is price. PSP was supposed to sell for about 2-300$. There is no way in hell I'd pay for that. DS is supposed to be 150$ or less. That's not a bad price for such a gadged with 2 screens, one of wich has a touch pad.

PSP IS GOING TO GET PWNED BY THE DS, ADMIT IT!

I like the PSP. It looks sexy :!!!!: the screen is huge, and since the media is all on new UMD's the graphics, sounds, and overall capacity is better. Yes there is a drawback with the battery life, 10 hours playin games, 8 playin music, and only 2 hours playin movies (arn't most movies over 2 hours lol), but they are already making a battery pack for it. The PSP also has the one thing absolutely NECESSARY in 3D gaming. The holy analog stick. DS doesn't have that! Also, all the games made for the PSP are usually 3rd party peeps, while Nintendo only makes their own games in most cases. (by the way i'm not dissing Nintendo, I love Nintendo, if i didnt love Nintendo i wouldn't wear their gear.) The PSP also can connect to cameras, computers, and even the good ol' PS2. But the main drawback is of course the price i must agree. Time to break open the piggy bank and start begging on the streets....oh wait i have a job yay. The thing is, like i stated earlier I love Nintendo as well as Sony. I'm one of the losers who's going to buy both. That, my friends, is how sad i am. but just remember that :!!!!:

Jeezz... are you sure it doesn't have a analog stick? Well, if it folds over when your not playing it, then i guess there is just no room for it.

yeah thats probably the only reason they didnt put one in there. but think of trying to control samus or something without an analog stick

I'm the master of the Dpad!

Don't worry about dissing Nintendo anybody, I'm a nintendo hater. I'll never play another gay Lamecube again. I'm sick of them soiling great characters like Mario. A waterpack? He talks gay? This isn't the Mario I grew up idolizing. Just give me some mushrooms and good ol' mario glory.

Why you ask, if I hate nintendo, would I buy DS? I love their handhelds. I don't understand why, but they haven't been soiled yet. Mostly because its all remakes of games that I DID grow up idolizing. I've stuck by Gameboy all my life (except gamegear, I am THE sega fanboy).

What saddens me, is that Nintendo has quite a reputation of going wrong when they reach the third dimension. N64 was the beginning of their soilage. While most of the N64 titles were respectable, there was an obvious decline. It started when Mario got his voice. I hope to god the DS doesn't follow in its footsteps.

Uhh...Didn't we already have a Sony PSP vs. DS topic? WTF people?

As I ALREADY stated, I'm going with DS. I'd have to say that the touch screen does make up for the analog stick, the price is affordable, and the batteries last longer; not to mention you can even lift the damn thing up.

Though I'm probably going to like DS better, the PSP wil still be pretty respectable. Like sackman, I'm going to try to get both. DS first though.

Well, I would go with DS for all of these major reasons : Longer Life, Not as Heavy, Cost less, ect.

As for Sony PSP. OK, Maybe the graphic will be better. Why spend $300.00
on a Handheld To have it drop out of you're hands and break when you first get it because it ways so fucking much. Well if you don't drop it maybe then you can buy a game that you already have for another sony console and only do that because PSP uses Minidiscs.
A glitch?

some games are the same but some are NEW, same peeps, diff games, like the new metal gear game for psp. it's turn based wtf lol and also nintendo says that the touch screen scratches very easily. (but they are trying to fix it somehow) :? and also since there is a clip thingy on the psp you can drop-proof it with a strap or something :D

PSP for me. Weight is a trivial matter, and I don't understand why that would be a problem. The price doesn't matter either, because I'll probably either get it for Christmas or wait until it inevitably goes down.
Now, what does matter are the games, and I'd much rather play Final Fantasy and MGS on the road than Mario (for one thing, I have NEVER beaten one Mario level. I always get stuck on the first one). I probably won't even consider the DS unless a remake of Ocarina of Time or something similar comes out for it.

On a different note, of course they bought PS2s because they liked the PS. I believe it lived up to the hype, and Dreamcast died because they couldn't keep up. It's not Sony's fault, but the game developers getting all excited and forgetting about the Dreamcast.

I guess, I dunno. :?

That would kinda suck if the screen scratches easily...I'm sure they can find some way to fix it?
