I was searching on ebay for Samba de Amigo games and maracas. Then I spotted this:
For ebay bidders you can bid for it for >16.00.

Those are definately a third party pair of maracas, but I have still never seen them. That's really weird, because I thought I had seen all maracas.

I do know that no matter which set, no third party pair stands up to the original as far as quality or sensitivity. Hyper Shadow bought the Cha Cha Amigo ones (I think they blew a fuse, but I'll eventually get around to fixing) and they weren't bad though.

But I didn't know they came with a dance pad??!?!

Oh, nah. All of the maracas come with that. It just shows where to "place your feet for the most accurate play."

But they're useless. My maracas are so good that I can jump up and down, stand 10 feet away and they still detect perfectly.

Cha Cha Amigos weren't that bad either.

Ha! I knew it Don! It's just there for you to put your feet on. What a waste of
polyurethane. But why the heck does it have a cord going to it?

For the sensors. That mat connects to the sensors.

Official maracas are too hard to find. I think I'll just stick to my gamepad.

Viva is gonna offer you some options. You can learn to bust out your Mexican on the dance mat, or perhaps use two DC fishing rods (cheap as hell, like 2 for $10) as poor man's maracas.

Oh so they are useless. I was wondering what the use for it was. So GV what maracas do you have and how much did you pay for yours?

That's what I bought. The official Sega maracas, and they're still complete with everything. More than once I accidently did something stupid that probably would've broken the cheap maracas. These babies are still going strong.

I payed $110 last Christmas to import them from Japan because they are so rare.

I've seen a pair of those, but they were $225. Maybe I should check on ebay.

Don't. People charge about twice that much. If it's equal to that, or less than that, it's a scam.

It was on amazon.com or something like that, besides I can't just find them at Rhinos.

By official maracas I meant the Sega maracas, not some Cha Cha Amigo ones.
