Okami: there goes my PSU money.

I'd like to start off by saying that this is all Yikarso's fault. He's the one who wrote the great review on it, and he's the one who said it owned Ocarina of Time.

I resisted for awhile. I held onto my precious $50, until today. I couldn't resist anymore. I went out and spent it all on Okami. I have no guilt. I'll try to get it back for PSU's launch, but if I can't, I still have no regrets.

Quite frankly Okami is one of the greatest things ever. Best graphics ever in the history of gaming. Nothing can best it. You have to see it to believe it.

I had my doubts about the gameplay too. I have been playing nothing but strict RPGs recently, and Valkyrie Profile 2 sure did look inviting. My doubts were ill-founded. I've played it over 5 hours today, and I've only owned it for like 8. Okami--the minute you pop it in your POS2--is addictive. Ocarina of Time didn't even hold my attention like this. This is... along the same lines that I'm addicted to Dragon Quest.

The graphics are amazing, the music is amazing, the battle system is bad as hell, there are more sidequests than I ever would've thought would be put into an adventure game, and the exploration factor is huge here. Exploring the worlds reminds me of Dragon Quest 8 overworld having sex with Hyrule Field.

In short, Okami reminds us of why PS2 has been the best choice in gaming for the last 6 years. It is a deep game with more than just "zomg polys" or "zomg I'm an fps lawl" going for it.

To conclude, Ocarina of Time just got owned. I can't believe I say these words, but it's true.

11/10

I made a full recovery after buying Okami.

I remade $50 today, so I'll be getting PSU online the day it comes out.

At this point, I can't imagine what people without a PS2 are doing. This is the golden era of the PS2. If you have an Xbox, it's completely dead. If you have a Gamecube, all that's left is Twilight Princess, so what're you doing? If you have a 360, you're being spoon fed Halo-wanna-be shooters through your asshole. And if you have the all respectable Dreamcast, you're still missing Okami, PSU, Guitar Hero II, FF12, Valkyrie Profile 2, Bully, and all the other PS2 masterpieces we're being bombarded with.

Ladies and gentlemen, the golden era of the stand is upon us, and I'm loving every second of it.
