Does anyone know of any program that lets you make beats, add custom sounds, etc?

For example, if I needed to make a beat, then add recorded lyrics and sound effects to that beat, is there a program that would allow me to do that?

Thanks.

I'm a parasite, sorry.

I know stuff for that in linux but for windows... is it fruit loops or something?

I'm not sure, I was hoping someone on here would have the answer.

Me and Stu formed a rap group, it's pretty sweet. Like, J-Baggs was nothing compared to this. I've already got like two songs written.
I'm ordering a microphone for my computer since my old one broke, and we're gonna recored random sounds to use in the compilation of our beats.
Plus, we can record lyrics with it.

Ole Nullset should do a part, eh?

You knows it. It's weird, before I even read this I started having urges to get back in the business. I have to dig out my old microphone if I still have it.

Fruity Loops is your best bet.

Thanks, I'll try to get it soon.
Is it a free download?

I just ordered a new computer microphone, it had good reviews and was only twenty five dollars with shipping.

You should write some lyrics, and we'll feature you on a track or something.
I've written two songs already. I thinkk

What all is audacity for? What features does it have, etc?
And did you pay for Fruity Loops? I mean, I would NEVER steal software, but is it possible to get it without paying the ridiculous price?

Also, are you a musician of some sort? You've "sparked my interest"

I've used both. Fruity loops more recently (jacked from DJ Yoshi's computer, along with many other things). I haven't used either enough to be able to judge; I'm not musician. I play guitar for fun, but the only software I'd use for that is for special effects when plugged into the computer.

Though I did use audacity for making a mixed tape. From what I saw, it was fairly easy for a nub to use, and appeared to have tons of more complex features for advanced users. I'd recommend them both.

As for where to get them...Uh, no way I'd steal. So buy them, spend 100+ dollars.

Or goto isohunt dawt cowm.

I downloaded Audacity, it's pretty cool. I added in a trippy instrumental track to the background, and "busted a mad flow" about a frog.

If you have any interest in hearing it, see my "band" myspace.

It's a little quite, because I didn't really want my dad to hear.

Oh, well thanks for the advice. I'll probably end up buying it, since there are no places to legally get it for free.

I'm not really into rap (usually I'd rather casterrate myself than listen to it) so i'm not exactly a fair judge in what is 'good' or not.

But yeah, I just listened to yours. Is that you or your friend singing? I like the bass in the BG--Was that mixed in or recorded?

So how do you like Audacity?

I didn't even write that song, or make the beat.
The lyrics were actually from a picture book my friend dug out of his closet. It was never intended to be a song, but I saw the possibilities with it.

The beat is actually from the song Ecstasy by Bone Thugs N Harmony.
I used the "add audio file" feature, or something like that, to add it into the song. It just plays while you record, which made it really easy to rap to it.

Again, it was just a demo to test out the software. And, I recorded it so I could have something for people to listen to while they browse the page.

My friend (Llama) is going to compose our beats.

It was me singing in the song. Obviously that's not my everyday speaking voice, but it wasn't digitally edited in any way.

Audacity was easy to figure out, I like it so far.

Not digitally edited? Wow, lolz, that's kewl. It sounded like one of those techno mixes with the slowed down voices.

Also, what kinda mic. you get? I have a normal karaoke style mic (1/8inch input) with radio shack converters (5 bux) so I don't have to use a separate mic on my computer and amp. The only problem is slight quality loss IF you get a cheap converter.

Lol, lyrics from a picture book? :guffaw: nice.

You should post the lyrics. xD

Yeah, I like trying to do falsetto stuff, but I always end up sounding like a gay little boy.

I've just got a Logitech USB microphone.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980186-0 ... 001&sr=8-1
If it matters.

Alright, these are the lyrics from the picture book:

I love to drive!
I am a toad.
Here I come-
Toad on the road!

Hands on the wheel.
Eyes on the road.
I am a careful
driving toad!

Hello, Cat.
Hop inside.
I will take you
for a ride!

Seat belt on?
Here we go!
Not too fast
Not too slow!

Take a left
Take a right!
Stop when you come
to the traffic light!

Stop on red
Go on green!
Drive in the car wash-
Come out clean!

The gas is low
We get a fill-up
We buy some stuff-
They add the bill up!

We get a flat.
We pump it up.
We give a ride
To our friend Pup!

Cat is hungry
Stop for lunch.
Sip and slurp-
Chew and munch!

I see pig
on the bus!
Get off, Pig,
And come with us!

Drive and shop.
Load the trunk.
On the roof rack
Put more junk!

Drive them here,
Drive them there!
I can drive them
Anywhere!

Drive-in movies
Magic shows
bowling alleys
Rodeos!

Cities
Farms
Mountaintops
Ferris wheels, candy shops!

Where are we now?
We don't know.
We don't care.
We just GO!

And these were the lyrics at then end, I wrote them:

All the pigeons in a row, eat a bucketful of snow
A hotdog is creepin, his name Brandon Poe
While I shoot at deathface, pound her buns at a fast pace
Break my leg in a rat race, God came in last place
Taco Bell is where I go, offend the Mexicanos
With a pot full of dough, indifferent toward the negros
And so, I'll board a train to Manhattan

While Im waitin, in the bathroom Jesus shavin
A pocketful of leprechauns and they misbehavin
Can't tame em, so a monkey comes and rapes em
