Apart from Metal Gear 4, Final Fantasy 7: PS3 remake is a mega reason to have a PS3.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thsnDqQu ... re=related

Yeah, I know, this isn't really news. It's been around for quite some time, but today I decided to checkout date or something. This is what I found on IGN:
Unveiled on May 16, 2005 during Sony Computer Entertainment's E3 press conference, the Final Fantasy VII: Technical Demo for PS3 was shown to the 2000 press members in attendance to confirm Square Enix's development for the PlayStation 3. Recreating the entire intro of the original PSOne classic, the demo was created in real time and featured classic heroes Cloud Strife and Aeris Gainsborough. Unfortunately for Final Fantasy fans all over the world, Square Enix President Yoichi Wada stated after the demo's airing that it was meant for display purposes only and was not proof of an actual remake of the original game.
So.. wtf..?! That was just a teaser for NOTHING?!

They're probably not even gonna make it..?! This is really, really bad news to me.. SQUARE ENIX is really starting to piss me off..! Everything from FFX-2 (including and especially that one) is UTTER CRAP! The story started to suck really bad.. i mean.. who's working there now.? My guess: a bunch of nerd monkeys that jerk off watching cartoon porn..! So if you can't make a decent story anymore, remake is a great idea..

Personally: The remake of FF7 would probably stop me from completely loosing faith in SE.. Otherwise they're just another garbage sellout to me..

There..! I said it! FU SE!!

They should go back to making GOOD Mana games.

Because, you know, Mana > (Final Fantasy VII)*1000

I haven't played SOM, but judging from videos, I beg to differ..

I know that it's better to make a good story and crappy graphics than crappy story and good graphics (FFX-2 is a perfect example).
But what about a combination of good story and good graphics..?
That's what FF7 is to me (especially a PS3 version). That's why I'd really like to see it out..

Wait. Ff7 and good graphics is an oxymoron.
FF7 and good story is definitely an oxymoron.

Im not going to say I hate FF7 but I did find it annoying that the main character is a depressed pretty boy. That is another thing i never really liked about japanese RPGs is that all the guys (mostly the main characters) are so girly that is is hard for me to feel too interested to play.

Personally I think FF7 is just hugely overrated.

Ah, the sad (and old) news... Final Fantasy 13 will be for Xbox360 as well, sigh... For a PS3 super fanboy like myself this is a crucial blow. Oh well, I guess I'll just buy the 360 and get it over with. I still have plans to XNA the hell out of some games I have cooking, so it was going to happen sooner or later it seems.

The secret of mana games were legendary beyond any comparison to a normal rpg. Secret of mana, Chrono trigger, and Final Fantasy 6 are my favorite games to date. The newer games all lost the one thing that made rpg's fun in my opinion. Story.
