Overhyped Games

Really is anyone else getting sick of this. Obviously Falco is after his recent videos but big professional titles are just starting to really piss me off. Fable 2 reviews say its good not great. Now I think the game developers have put a huge amount of work into it and I really respect it. But come on the lead Game designer said they were creating the best RPG of all time, re inventing the laws of physics and inventing a new universe. He promised kids growing up in Fable 1 which fell on its arse in that respect and I couldn't carve my name in a tree and come back and see it had matured. Why can't they just be honest? It really doesn't seem to hurt sales. Man I can just imagine the devs at Lionhead studios laughing behind his back at his completely ridiculous claims. Reminds me a bit of this other group that said they could reinvent indie games. (JFAIL).

Dude.. :]
Whatever had to be said about JForce has been said.. Let it rest.

And yes. Lots of managers talk crap overhyping the game. It's true. 99% of the time it's because they don't know what the f*** they're talking about and just want to sell it.

What did I ever wake anything up? I was really bitching about fable 1 which I just finished as opposed to JForce. I just thought I would add it in for another example that as an individual game developer you would be able to relate to. Its like writing a speech about the importance of voting and then sneaking in one sly Palen joke. I prefer compulsory voting at least that way we actually get to use our right as opposed to the right not to use your most important right. :/ Maybe having you election on Saturday would also make more sense but thats just US congress. (Sorry its off topic but I suppose your elections are today).

Lionhead Studios has a tendency to promise too much.

I learned to not follow the hype for their games. In the end it turns out to be a much more enjoyable experience when I have no expectations besides the ones that their previous games had set for me.
