Phobias

Anyone have any irrational fears?

I'm afraid of driving. I can do it fine when I know where I'm going, and I'm fine if I'm going somewhere new but have a map (only a little bit stressful), but if I have to follow somebody or use someone's directions as the only way to find someplace new, or if it's SNOWING, I'm really scared of driving.

Being on-time is also a stress for me. Anyone who knows me in person knows I'm always early, because I get nervous if I don't have plenty of time to get somewhere. When my friends and I go somewhere and we arrive right on time, I feel nervous the entire way because there's no excess time. o_O

Horses. The most vile creature ever. It's face.... is long. So disturbing.

I drew a picture of a horse a long time ago. It's photo realistic.

Hrm.

I'm afraid of dying alone without ever finding love and all that feminine stuff.

I'm afraid of being a failure in life.

My number one fear is dying without achieving things that I want to.

I have a serious fear of injury.

Ugh, just the thought makes me cringe...

It stems from when I was chasing my dogs around the living room, and I managed to trip and dislocate my knee. Luckily I had my cellphone on me, so I was able to dial 911. Then I was painfully rushed to the hospital, where they crunched it back into place - breaking the knee cap and forcing me to come back the following week for knee surgery. I spent that entire summer on the couch.

So yeah...ouch...I don't wanna live through that again.

SNAKES. I can't stand them. Just the sight of them makes me sick to my stomach, I can't even see them on tv.

I had a very traumatic childhood with snakes.

Those aren't phobias, those are just fears.

I'm talking about stuff that you're afraid of doing/seeing/whatever, that impacts the way you live (and I don't mean man-whoring yourself because you're afraid of never finding love) and how others may respond to you (If my dad ever asks me to drop off something where he works, I freak out and completely refuse because I'm too afraid. Except now I know how to get there and I'm alright with it.)

Come on guys, afraid of dying? Thats not good enough! Everyone is afraid of dying. On that note, thinking about it, is it really that scary to die? I mean, if you're dead and you know its coming no matter what, fuck it, you're DEAD, nothing matters at that point. (unless you're religious, that is, then you'll go to heaven  ). Now, if you're talking about WAYS of dying, thats a different story. Burning to death is probably one of the worst (and scariest) ways of dying; I mean, you FUCKING BURN MAN!!! :shock2: For instance, while cooking I burned my pinky-finger badly once (accidentally), and it freaking hurt like nothing else! Imagine the pain of burning alive, surreal...

Phobias are rare, so I don't have any. That said, I am afraid of only one thing, and its no phobia (I think I was traumatized as a kid or something). You guys might laugh, but ... Its aliens. You see, unlike supernatural things (ghosts, hauntings, etc), aliens (and alien abductions) are actually possible (according to a little thing called science). Sometimes I think of how we humans treat other beings mentally lesser than us, and I ponder that, thats how we would also be treated.

I mean, when you see a cockroach, (and don't lie), what do you instinctively just WANT to do? STEP ON IT, and kill it, right!? You think they're disgusting, and so far from our intelligence level that they are simply irrelevant. Same analogy here between us humans and extremely advanced aliens; some food for thought ;)

I run away D:
I'm actually very nice to bugs, and whimper when others try to kill them. I take an empty CD spindle, capture it, and take it outside.

Only exception is flys and gnats, but only because they're hard to catch and really fucking annoying. (oh, mosquitoes do deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth too)

Those aren't bugs they're just freakin pests. Pests deserve to die, bugs are cool to let outside.
