Pigs can't fly, but apparently cars can!

So here's the deal, a British engineer has designed a dune buggy that can gain flight, and he wants to fly from London(although he's had trouble obtaining licences, so he's starting in France) to Timbuktu in it.
Now i've seen this thing on national news(UK), going across the beach, and it looked impressive, but I can't figure out how it's going to reach 10,000ft (it's maximum anticipated altitude)
I just though this was an interesting concept, I mean it's hardly a DeLorean, but it's a start, and the inventor described it as a 'fun toy, like a quadbike'
Link to story is here:

Anyone have any thoughts, or just want to discuss how cool it would be to drive one?
EDIT: here's and actual video of the skycar in action (this is the video that makes me doubt it's 10,000ft altitude
)

"Doc, we better back up. We don't have enough road to get up to 45. "
"Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads."

I love that film(series)
They say that this car won't fly properly in the rain either, so if you happen to take off on a sunny day, then suddenly it rains, well you're pretty much screwed...

Fixed. Nice to see a working flying car.

/sigh, well shit. That was the whole joke. The first video said that it begins to fly at 45 miles per hour, which reminded me of the scene from Back to the Future.
I lose. :P

See, I read the article to check that that wasn't the case, but I couldn't watch the video. So you don't lose, I just guessed wrong (that the video didn't say that).

I want one. Badly. Only more DeLorean shaped. It'd be a lot cooler without the giant parachute too. Anti-gravity tyres anyone?

Definately...it's just a shame they don't exist at the moment
