If you ever want to take a break from coding, then I highly suggest you read this book by James Patterson! He is the person who writes the Alex Cross novels such as Along came a spider, Kiss the girls, The Big bad wolf, etc, etc... But When the Wind Blows is a suspense fantasy. But it could and probally is happening all over the world.
Its about this outlaw lab in Denver that is doing experiments on humans and making them have wings. The lab is called the school and they have about 6 bird children, that have been there since birth. They pick unknowing monthers who are pregnet and inject Avian dna into the baby. Then about 8 months along when she is in for a check up, perform an emergency C-section and get the child out and tell her it died. But two kids escape, an 11 year old girl named Max, and here 9 year old brother. So the guards and sicentist go after them and kill anyone who comes in contact with them.

This is from the back of the book

Frannie O'Neill is a talented Colorado veterinarian haunted by her husband's murder. But the course of her life is about to change again. After another bizarre killing, Kit Harrison, a troubled and unconventional FBI agent, arrives on her doorstep. And late one night Frannie stumbles upon a strange, astonishing phenomenon.
Her name is Max. Only eleven years old, she will lead Frannie and Kit to uncover one of the most diabolical and inhuman plots of modern sicence.

This is a very good read, and im amazed it never got made into a movie, since alot of his other books have. Its a page turner, so the chapters are one - two and a half pages long. You wont want to put this one down trust me. Its only like 5 bucks now, so where can you go wrong right?

When I break from coding I read Kevin Mitnick books, or books about game development. XD

Or calculus textbooks.

OH SHIT I JUST REALIZED YOU'RE IN SHREVEPORT, LA. That's where iD worked for a while, for Softdisk. :P

Up until Saturday, I lived in Raytown, which is where John Carmack grew up. My sister goes to his highschool, and I go to the uni he went to before dropping out after a couple semesters.

Take a break from coding? Yeah and then I get programmers withdrawl... :x

I can definitely agree it's a great book. While I probably wouldn't say it's the best book I've read, it's definitely.. top 5.
