Elysian Shadows

As some of you music composers know, Fruity Loops is a fairly popular music creation studio. The only downside to fruity loops, is the price. Although it's not thousands of dollars, it's still expensive, especially with the economic crysis(at least there is in the USA). Linux MultiMedia Studio is a free open-source alternative to fruity loops. It is also multiplatform.

I looked at a video and I have to say it looks very good. I downloaded it and messed around, it's a lot of fun.

Just wanted to let you guys know about this if your project needs music. Or you just want to try it out.

Meh I use Madtracker, Anvil Studio and Sonar, because Thomas Youngblood uses Sonar so that means it's good.

As far as FL goes, I haven't really used it since February '08, but it's awesome because it was the first non-default computer program I've ever used (without it I wouldn't be here, you can go kill image-line now if you want).

I'll try this out, I've seen one of those cliche windows sound remixes done in it (ironic, I know).

I checked it out, and it doesn't look bad. The interface is pretty well organized for such a complex application.

I doubt I'll do anything useful with it, but I'm sure someone with a bit more audio experience might use it for something.

I use it when im on Ubuntu. On windows I use fruity loops.

Looks pretty good, i use fruity loops, but i'll have a play with this, thanks for the post.

If you're serious about composing music then I urge you to check out Logic Pro 9. I've yet to upgrade from Logic Pro 8 but the new tools make it well worth the £399 or £159 if you upgrade. If you're a PC-user then get FL. It's amazing and it's cheap and you get free upgrades.

I'm more for "analogue compositon" now. Seriously don't spend $800 for logic pro when you could spend $15 for a shitty acoustic guitar.
Doing it yourself seems more motivational, IMO, plus it's a lot more impressive to show your friends your 1337 heavy metal song on guitar than on FLStudio.

I compose music so I'm a music composer. You don't have to be as good as Mozart to say that you're a music composer. What about programmers? It's the same argument.

but yeah. Computers do lots of stuff nowdays, and every day more. It's easy to fall victim.
