Brilliant cartoon!
Yep Alan Turing had it hard. Helped to defeat the nazi's, but prosecuted for being gay. I briefly remember Gordon Brown making an apology on the news for the way he was treated back then. Not that makes up for anything.

I really like the theory stuff in my CS classes, but I know a few people in my department who want to make games and are dying.

You are right, it's not information technology. That is what Shannon did
I'm not so familiar with the English descriptions of classes.
We learned all this Turing stuff in a class called "Automaten" which would translate to "state machine".
