So much for the great liberal UK. What the fuck, I could watch gay porn on my college wifi if I so pleased...

i wouldent call the UK governments conservative or liberal, but they are def one of the most thought policed places in the world.
they friggen banned Michael Savage from even entering the country because he is a evangelical(not christian sense) conservative.

Exactly the same impression that I've got.

Lots of cameras + face recognition software = New Britain.

personally i dont care about the cameras. if you dont wanna be watched in public then dont go in public. if you are not doing anything wrong you should have no issue.

really? I envy you.. I'm extremely intimidated by cameras. Not that I'm doing something wrong, but it gives a lot of material for an evidence set-up, if you're liberal and government has something against you.. you know what I mean.

I can relate, last year I did the last year of my media studies A-level and I needed to use the bbfc website which was, you guessed it, blocked.
The irony; a site advising people about censorship and suitability is blocked wtf!
My college system at the moment is pretty good it allows us to access most sites if they are related to what we are doing although it is logged, anything inappropriate is blocked outright. A good system personally at least better than the one I had last year  .

My school block all my favourite sites, even the ones I've made, and when I ask them to unblock they might aswell say "Fuck you" to my face.

:(

that could be it :D
although I feel it's my community and citizen duty to be skeptic. ;)

the result is: no sites blocked @ my college 8-) (not even porn)
interestingly enough, our teachers come in and talk liberally about anything. Straightforward as hell.. I love it.

At my school elysianshadows is blocked as well, I think they log stuff but IDK or care... I just use my own methods of beating it usually, but I don't like using the schools computers... The tech teacher at my school is awesome, he's all black hat, and hates his school job :)

I agree, but in my opinion, I think that you can't really control thought, just its loudness. People are "built" in a certain manner, physically (nerves, chemicals) plus parenting and environment.
Those people with no-no-thought-patterns will not get a chance to say it aloud, proven wrong and get corrected, but rather turn out extremely screwed up in the head with other no-no-thought-patterns built over existing ones. In the end they will end up not talking anymore, just psychotically hating and killing others or hurting/killing themselves. The news gets covered and it's just another great day in the city where every passenger is you potential murderer. Extremes create extremes.

So if I go and sit next to your bedroom window and (theoretically) laugh about the size of your small penis every day, you should have no issue? I mean, you're not doing anything wrong. And all I'm doing is watching you, as far as you can tell.

Just because I'm walking in public doesn't mean I'm doing something I want you to watch. It's sort of like the difference between walking around on a sidewalk and being stalked while walking around-- just because I'm in public doesn't mean that I should have to expect to have my every move followed.

Also, my university blocks nothing.
