FRC [FIRST Robotics Competition] 2010 Teams

I noticed that there are a few people on here that, like me, are on a FRC team this year.

I am on FRC team 2856 (a.k.a. "Planetary Drive")

This topic is for people who are also on FRC teams who want to talk about this years game, methods of doing things,
bot programming, etc.

This years game is BREAKAWAY, and I would like to exchange ideas with other people from different teams about technicalities
and other things.

To kick it off (no pun intended), I want to talk about kicking the ball out of bounds. Is it a foul only if your bot kicks it out of bounds intentionally,
or is it a foul either way.

Also, is every team programming their bot in Java this year, or are some people still using LabView?

My team is using Java, well IDK I wanted C++ but one of my mentors disagreed, so Java it is. Im not the official Lead programmer, but I guess I am now... Just without the title, the other programmers pretty much have to get the OK from the mentors or me to do anything... even the lead programmer asks me... Team 589 here

I don't think there is a C++ module that comes in the kit, but I agree, C++ would be muuuuuch better to program the bot with. And were using Java...

There is, it uses a modified version of eclipse IDE

I tried downloading that for our prog. team... they didn't like the idea. They seem to be Netbeans purists
