The Boston Herald, which is quite possibly the most garbage publication known to man, has recently posted an article linking Amy Bishop's violent tendencies to her passion for D&D. Talk about a crock of shit. I thought we had made it past the rants of the mid-90's blaming games like Mortal Kombat and Doom on aggression and violence. Apparently not. Being an avid fan of D&D, I can say that the types of people who play are so diverse that it is impossible to place any of us within a violent stereotype and this journalist should be ashamed. Vin Diesel and Kurt Schilling are also big D&D fans so should we put them on high alert for shooting up a mall? WTF

People think by blaming TV and Video Games and Music for problems that they've some how found the gateway to violence in the real world which is complete and utter crap.

To say that violence is influenced by a video game for example implies that the original source of violence was that video game.
But if you stem off deeper from the video game, you'll see that the video game got it's ideas for violence from real life.
So real life violence influences more real life violence, the game could be considered just a gateway to what is truly out there in the real world.

However, this isn't even the case.
The only time that a game or a movie would ever cause someone to act out and become violent trying to imitate something they saw in a fictional video game or movie whether it be based on true events or not, or hell, even if they see a world war documentary and see violence in that and they some how get the urge to commit acts of violence in real life.

THIS MEANS THAT THE PERSON HAS A SERIOUS MENTAL PROBLEM

The whole purpose of games and movies and other forms of media like this is for entertainment not to endorse violence.
By saying that these things somehow spark violence in everyone is complete and utter bull shit and it's just an excuse or a scapegoat to pull when they don't want to admit the truth such as bad parenting or quite possibly a mental issue.

If you play a game like D&D and suddenly get the urge to kill other people because of it, you are either.
1. A complete idiot
2. A complete fucking idiot
3. A person who was never explained the difference between fake and real life
4. A person with a serious mental disorder
5. A walrus

And that's pretty much it... I'm sick of these people playing the god damn blame game.
Start taking action instead of blaming it on forms of entertainment for other people's violent behaviors.
