Get an actual educational dev kits from the big companies? I know Sony has a educational program that they give schools PS3 dev kits to or something. But thats mostly for college? I think I want my school programming and robotic classes to have one of those. Is it even worth contacting them? Like "we are going to use it for educational purposes" and may be even use it in one of our robots. :lol: Is it worth a try contacting the big companies for a highschool thing?

My exact words. If you can't get the discount then you don't pay. If you do then you can get it. As simple as that ;)

The PS3 SDK is more than $10,000... I don't think your school can afford it.

You can make a deal. If you bring half of the money, the school will pay other half, and get to be the owner.
If the school says yes, then: Make an announcement to everyone in school that if they pay X$, the school will get that SDK.
X = 5000$ / number of people in school
