'Tis, eatcomics. lol

I really want to do console development, but i have to buy things to do so. The thing that sucks is, I have absolutely no money, so, no money == no devving for consoles == not a happy asian. lol

ugh. Can't wait for a job :D

Try XNA, I am quite reluctant to say it, but I feel that its the most widely offered official SDK for any console... but I would pass on that because its C# and its for a 360 and its Microsoft... Or if you want to do Homebrew, the PSP and DS and Wii have homebrew SDKs. Or if you feel even more hardcore go grab a phat PS3 with linux support and install linux and code for it...

Soft modding the xbox is easy and cheap :D

all you need is an old xbox, a copy of 007: nightfire (none of these the classics version), splintercell (the original), or mech assualt... turns out I think I have all three (not sure bout mech assault but I do believe I have it somewhere) (nightfire should be cheap on ebay, and probably the others, but I don't think nightfire was too popular)

anyways you also need to rig up your xbox controller pretty much by just splicing it up with a usb cable... then you download all the proper stuff and follow the instructions for install :P

to get code and stuff on the xbox, you just set it up on your network and ftp into it...

my only problem right now is... my parents use the old xbox for movies, sometimes, well not so much anymore, but I don't really wanna break a controller for it, so I'm gonna try and get my grandmas xbox, the cd thing doesn't work, so I might just try and fix it or replace it, then I can do as I wish with it :D

EDIT: Maybe we can see an ES xbox port one day? and a wii port, or even a 360 and PS3 port :shock2:
EDIT++: While I'm at it, even a PS2 PORT!

C# and XNA is what I was doing with a project. But I've postponed that project to do some C++ stuff first. I don't really like C#, that's the major reason why I postponed it.

eatcomics: The thing that sucks is, I don't have an original Xbox lol. I was hoping to get some money this summer to buy one, or if anyone in my town has one that they would like taken off their hands, that would be cool too.

Really the only consoles I have are 2 DCs ( 8-) ) and a PS2. I've heard the PS2 is a beast to code for, since it has like 2 processors(I think).
My mom's roommate has a GameCube, but I don't think I would be allowed to h4x it to run homebrew. .

Edit: That would be A LOT of work to port ES to all those system

hell yeah it would... but anyways, xboxs are going for around 20 on ebay :D which is odd because so are DCs (I think we all know who's on top here ;D ) Why aren't you doing DC dev? If I had a DC I wouldn't give a crap about xbox lol, xbox programming is just like PC, dreamcast requires more optimization, I have an interest in the lower level stuff and would love to check out some of the stuff you could do :D not to mention all the peripherals xO <- orgasm face

I WOULD do DC dev, but I need to either a way to burn a multisession cd or get a coder's cable; and the only way I know option one would work is Nero; which I don't have, 'cuz I'm a poor man (lol). Windows multisession disk isn't readable by the DC, so I'm screwed there, too.

I wanna do DC stuff so bad, but testing on emulators are CRAP. Do you know of any Good multisession cd burners:D?
(preferably free/open source)

Thanks
