I've made a video before showing me making an app on Linux but it was on the 2.0 firmware.

Okay, after like 3 months of searching through obscure forums and stuff, looking desperately for a solution, i found it. The only way you can develop iPhone Apps on windows is to

BUY A FUCKING MAC, PAY THE 99 DOLLARS AND DEV AWAY WITHOUT ANY WORRIES.

Sorry, just had to say it. I was totally in your position back when I had a windows machine. "why can't apple just make xcode for windows?!?!"

lol he did, and I don't even have an itouch/phone right now so it didn't really matter... and you can run OSX in virtual box I think that some people do it, I think it would be a PITA but it would work :P

ibly31, isn't that Objective-C code in your signature. Do you do iPhone development, or possibly just Mac.

Id never recommend setting up a VM for anything but testing of a os or service, let alone development. (if you use something like esxi, and you have alot of experience you can use virtualization to the Nth degree, but for just doing it on your desktop, its just not feasible)

If you really want to develop for the iphone or mac, then just get a mac.

but non the less, cool video.

as for "why can't apple just make xcode for windows?!?!" well thats just a silly question, its not even that apple doesent want to, its just not possible. apple and MS actually have a very good relationship as far as corp entities go.

I've read online about people using VMs to dev, although I also think its probably not a great idea, it is done.
I saw that quite a few people did it when I was looking for itouch help... I remember because I even thought to myself how much of a pain that would be and it would be a very last resort thing if I attempted it...

as for xcode on windows... Windows just can't pull off the grace of xcode... I use grace in the sense that microsoft just sucks...
