Wouldn't he need Cygwin?

No, it doesn't need cygwin.

I was thinking that he didn't, but I was looking at that there appwizard and I saw something about Cygwin.

That's for the KOS 1.2.0 cygwin setup. We use the 1.1.9 one without cygwin.

I used to use that Cygwin setup. I actually still have it as well. Man, I hated that. Remember eventually what I made just wouldn't compile for some reason and you introduced me to the more respectable VC++ setup?

Thanks guys. Lets say I wanted to develope using Dev-Cpp, would any of those tools still be usefull (KOS of course). And what exactly is an app wizard and what does it do?

The pern project is designed for use with VC++.
VC++ is only used as an IDE while GCC (the real compiler) does all the work.
The appwizard (short for application wizard) will enable a new choice in the new project menu called "Dreamcast project". After choosing it VC++ will automatically set up everything according to what's in the appwizard file. In this case it'll tell VC++ to use an external compiler (GCC targetted for the SH4 processor). It'll also create a makefile for you.
But for Dev-Cpp I'd recommend DcFreeDev, It's a complete package containing everything you need. It's about 60MB IIRC.

Welp, count me out for DcFreeDev... no way would be able to get that with my dialup.. I guess I'll just have to wait untill GyroVorbis's CD of mine shows up.

yep... I've been set up for a while now. Got my extension cord and everything. Just waiting for 1 little CD to come in the mail from GyroVorbis..... the VC++. I guess I should cut him some slack though... I mean, I've only asked for it 2 weeks ago... and I'm sure he's just joking when he laughs at me and torments me by saying he's going to send it "right now" everytime I ask him about it.
Gyrovorbis.... did you send it yesterday like you said you would?

Okay, now that I'm back from Peter's house, I have it ready to send. That'll be $10.00 for shipping please.
It's in the mailbox right now.
I just got it ready and put on an address label. It should arrive in two or three days.
