I am asking for ideas for a platforming game, thanks!

1. Please, don't post in such a "big" font - its just ugly and makes it a pain to read D:
2. There are really good tutorials out there that teach you the basics for SDL. (e.g. http://www.lazyfoo.net/SDL_tutorials/ )
3. For the game ideas, try to keep it simple if you're just starting out ( http://lazyfoo.net/articles/article01/index.php )

If you didn't use SDL to make TicTacToe, what did you use?

The need for graphics, especially if you're just starting out, should come completely secondary to what and how you're developing. All you really need to start out with the lower-level games is Paint. Anything above that, in my opinion, is overkill to the first few projects that are only meant for self-educating purposes.
