Awwww,FUCK. I now have a confession....
I've just rolled out of bed, and am reading this from my Ipad. When I first clicked on the topic and saw you were the author, I instinctively reached for the "like" button!
Also, great to hear! It's always like rediscovering an old favorite hobby when that happens.

Thanks er'body! I don't want to reveil anything yet...
I wanna see how things go over the next few weeks and see if they're progressing the way I envision them. If so, I'll put together a YouTube video and fill everyone in. If not, I'll find something else to work on, damnit!
I will say this, it's not Golvellius... Given my limited dev time, I'm focusing on a smaller scoped project while still fulfilling a long-time, unaccomplished goal.
EDIT: And, no, it's not Bop N' Pop 2. :P

Can you at least reveal what platform this project is for? I'm hoping for another XBL indie title

Indeed it is, sir!
(btw, things are progressing well so far - I hope to having something to show in the next few weeks.)

Hey, as someone developing for XBLIG, what's your opinion on the recent changes/events surrounding the Indie Marketplace. Not sure if you've been following, but the most recent dashboard update relegated Indie Games to an obscure corner in the XBL marketplace (not under games). There was a big outcry and Microsoft made some changes, adding Indie Games back in under Games (though not searchable by title I believe). There's been a lot of changes since the dashboard update on Nov. 1 so I'm not totally up to date, but it's certainly made me a bit nervous as someone developing for that niche.
I know that it's appeared lately like they're trying to transform the "Creator's Club" community into App developers who will help to drive their upcoming Windows 7 phone (they even renamed the "Creators Club", the community you needed to join to develop for XBLIG, to the "App Hub").
On the positive side, with the recent changes that brought Indie Games a little closer to the front, it shows that they definitely do listen to the developer community. That's a pretty big organizational shift for a big company to push through in just over a week.

I actually didn't even log onto Xbox Live during that time that the indie games were so deeply buried, but I did hear about it. I haven't checked my sales stats to see if I was impacted, but in general I only sell 5 to 10 copies per month.
I've become a fan of XNA and the community. Let's face it, the fact that you can develop for Windows, Xbox 360, Zune, and Windows Phone 7 using the same codebase and framework is pretty damn cool. (It's not as nifty as LibGyro, but I'll take it!) I also program in .NET every single day at work, so I can bang out some XNA code in a heartbeat. Golvellius 3D is written in C++ and it took a while to knockoff all of the rust since I hadn't touched C++ since college.
.NET was designed for rapid application development and that carries through into game development. If you want to develop a game quickly and get it on the market to share with others, XNA ain't a bad choice.
The new "App Hub" is essentially the same Creator's Club site with a pretty new face. The meat of the functionality is exactly the same.
