So what do you think looks best in a game pixel or normal and smooth?

It depends on the game, how retro it is. I prefer the look of anti-aliased sprites, but when it's a pixel-art game the style is kinda locked. I'd like to see some variations - like maybe pixel art, where the pixels are scaled up by say, 4 - but then they have drop shadows, or something smooth included to make the pixelation more deliberate. I think pixelated but drop shadowed could look really nice, and some modern particles, so things like blood and explosions would be more realistic, that's the sort of thing I'd consider if making a pixel game.

Lol, I flagged both these (the duplicate post below) as spam. I wonder if I was wrong or not.

I haven't seen many 2D games that use smooth art, but the few that I can think of I seem to offer a unique experience. For 3D smooth is obviously the way to go, at least in my opinion. Minecraft manages to make horrendously pixelated graphics work with its builder-style gameplay mechanics, but not many others have pulled it off (aside from intentional retro as Van-B suggested).

Lol, guess I was wrong, it was just such a vague question for a first post. As for the book,

So... what did Sony do to screw you over? "couldn't download my free games for my psp" is very vague.

Also on his twitter "Im 13 my parents pay for food and shelter :D" It explains his actions, although it certainly does not justify them.
