Everybody else can go screw themselves...

Anyway, Nintendo has announced the Yellow/Crystal Version of the Sapphire/Ruby set: Emerald.

Emerald takes place where Ruby and Sapphire did and is the same for the most part. The game however has some very notable extra features and additional places/poke'mon.
IGN wrote: A role playing game similar to all the other main Pokemon titles, the story for Pokemon: Emerald takes place over land and sea and pits you against the Team Aqua and Team Magma from Saphire and Ruby. This time around, Pokemon will show off their moves prior to battle, perhaps as a sort of taunt.
Errr--I don't know what in god's name it means by Poke'mon will show their moves off prior to battle, but it might be cool.

Here's the announced box:

Notice Rayquaza is on the cover rather than the traditional Kyogre or Groundon from Ruby/Sapphire. That's really wierd, seeing how you can catch Rayquaza in the original Ruby/Sapphire games. If he is replacing Groundon or Kyogre, I await to see what is replacing the original Rayquaza.

Here's some screens:

Wow, some of that stuff looks really spiffy and newfangled

Yes, this game will surely kick ass.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the main upgrade. Emerald will now support the wireless communication system that Leaf and Fire introduced. Thank god!

it means the pokemon will strip nude and run across the screen, therefore appealing to a much wider audience. :spin:

i dont really think that it would affect gameplay. i mean...maybe eyecandy but nothing more.

i may have to pick up this one instead of the other more recent ones soon...
if only i had money...

:guffaw:

Anyway, the new game does look pretty good. It still looks like the typical Sapphire and Ruby versions though, besides some of the eye candy like 1st_movement said.

Apparently IGN isn't as professional as we might think. It looks like they had an emulator and just PrintScreened into paint...
