So during these last few months, our team has basically compiled a list of games to play and beat throughout the development process of ES for inspiration and research purposes. We are basically just going to kinda try to post where we're at in the games, what we like, what we don't like, decide if they have any influence for Elysian Shadows and such...
I thought it might be cool to make at leas portions of these discussions public, so you guys can all play along with us and post your thoughts as well. Kind of like an ongoing community game-a-thon. Thoughts?

You play Super Mario RPG?
I like games that can be funny. I like games that don't take themselves too seriously,
so I guess that is why I always liked it as an RPG.

I'm down. I almost need a reason like this to play games with my crippling lack of free time

One of my all-time favorite RPGs. The jumping mechanic is what inspired our own jumping mechanic in ES and gave me confidence that we could also incorporate platforming mechanics into an RPG successfully.
I'm currently playing through Pier Solar.

Currently playing Mortal Kombat X for PS4
Left, Right, Left, Down, Triangle = SUB ZERO FATALITY! Freeze opponent's chest, shatter organs away, reach in with two hands and rip out the spinal cord

And of course Blizzard's Legacy of the Void Beta.
