Elysian Shadows

The idea of imposing a list of games and forcing you to beat them to stay in ROU is pretty harsh. However, you must prove to us that you're 1337 enough to stay in ROU.

In order to prove your worthiness of being in ROU, you will each be required to gain and maintain 100 1337 Points by the end of the summer. These points can be gained by taking part in ROU events (marathons, etc.), by beating games off of the below game list, or by doing something cool that I cannot think of now.

But, 1337 points can also be subtracted. This will happen when one of the ROU heads, or multiple members of ROU, think that you have done something stupid and worthy of punishment. If you do something major, such as fake beating a game, you can lose up to 20 points. If it something small, such as creating dumb topics trying to rid the world of Ad-ware, then you may only lose a few.

As much as we would like to make the admins abide by our rules/laws, we know that we cannot. Thus, they will not take part in this. No matter how much we would like to kick them from ROU, we cannot. None of the admins would work towards gaining points, but would still post here. It sucks, but it's life.

All other ROU members will begin with 0 points and work your way up.

Yesterday, I beat Super Mario 64. I put a reveiw in the reveiws section.

The whole concept seems so depressing... it reminds me of school. Having to do random chores such as beat a huge list of games... whatever happened to summer freedom and no worries?

JSL's right. Why do we have to do this? What's the point?

I know this'll probably cost me a few 1337 points, but a forum is just a place where people can hang out and talk. In all of the forums I've joined, I've never had to go through some test or anything like this to stay in a private forum like the RoU.I mean, seriously, are you just trying to put up all this stuff we have to do just so we'll ignore it and you can kick us out? It's like JSL said, this is just like school. It's fucking summer! Why do we have to follow rules like these during SUMMER ?

Damn that was long. I've got strep throat and can barely talk. GV was right. It's fun yelling when you're sick. Of course, I can't yell like this. But I'm serious about all this.

The reason we even thought of this is because we feel that we may have let some people into the realm that do not need to be. Thus far, we have let anyone who asked in. Now we've decided that only 1337 people should be in here.

Yes, the forums are for exactly what you said: to be free and post whenever. So why would you care if you get kicked from the realm?

Again, this is a way to sort the true gamers from the lazy people. I am sorry, the realm was and is made entirely to suit Showdin and I. we want only respectable people in here, and have now decided to be more strict.By respectable, we mean people like us. People who respect and beat NES games. You may not share our opinions in many things. When we say 1337, we talk of people that WE consider "cool". If you do not meet OUR requirements, oh well. Leave the realm.


Oh, and Spidey, nice review. The game is on the list that we have not yet posted, so you gain 12 1337 points, plus an additional 2 for the review.

Any game you beat that is not on the list gains you 2 points.

I am sorry to say, but I almost expect everyone but maybe three people to be dropped from the realm. I kind of hope you'd prove me incorrect, but I doubt you will.

Spidey, I can tell that you do not like this idea. If you want me to just remove you from the list now and save the embarresment of nothaving enough points later, tell me. You may prefer that way.
