Re: Hire Me!
If you're willing to move to the Seattle area, we've got a ton of positions opening up at MS. These would be .NET development positions, creating tools and technologies related to games testing (mostly Xbox but there's the occasional PC and Windows Phone stuff). This would be a huge growth opportuni...

Re: Coffee
I have a hard time with regular drip coffee unless I load it up with sugar and creamer. I also prefer my coffee iced, so if I get the free stuff out of our fancy Starbucks drip coffee machines at the office, I gotta do all sorts of magic to make it drinkable. So for that reason I usually have overpr...

Re: Pixel artist wanted for business card design...
Nah pritam, well I found one artist who kinda flaked out so I'm looking for someone more reliable. The thing is that at this point it's a bit urgent because I want to get the order in at least 2 weeks before GDC (so, by about February 14). I may have a few days buffer after that but I don't want to ...

Re: Pixel artist wanted for business card design...
This is interesting, not saying I'm doing this but is there a specific theme you're looking for (other than it being pixel art)? Like space, platform game, anything would help, and what size is the business card? Dang, I must not have email notifications turned on because I didn't see this response...

Pixel artist wanted for business card design...
There's probably a better forum for this but I decided to post it here to be safe. I'm going to be heading to GDC soon and I wanted to have plenty of business cards on hand. I was hoping for some cool, simple pixel-art design(s) but I don't have any pixel art skills. Is anyone here willing to work w...

The Legend of Neil
To any of you who aren't too young to have played the original Legend of Zelda, I just wanted to suggest checking out the series The Legend of Neil , which is a funny parody. (At least, it's funny to my childish and nostalgic mind.) If you decide to watch, be sure not to watch the episode which play...

The thing I find funny about the Stuff White People Like site is that it could easily qualify as something white people like.

You didn't post the source/author. http://www.theastralworld.com/prophecies/babavanga.php Ooo, I love vague prophecies with unverified sources. I'd like to see more of her prophecies from pre-2010... anyone have a record of all these? Remember the "time traveler" John Titor, predicting a ...

Re: UN walk out.
I would have preferred a response of collective laughter; I agree that walking out in some small sense can be seen as validating his statements.
It's good that even the crazies are allowed to talk, so walking out on them kinda flies in the face of that ideal.

Dang, I haven't been paying attention to the forums lately, otherwise we could have said hi at PAX. I spent a lot of the time in the BYOPC area, though.

Oh man, I miss all the good discussions. I even missed some CS Lewis-bashing, which I can always get behind.

Congratulations, that's really awesome. Working with those documents is a major pain in the ass, so if you've made that process simpler, I salute you.

Re: What Would You Tell Your Highschool Self?
It's weird; some of my advice would be oddly split into opposites: Don't think you know everything; you don't. Just because all of your friends are clueless about computer programming, it doesn't make you a pro. Don't be psyched out by the later chapters in programming books and other advanced topic...

Dang... I had no idea they looked that gross. I had them in dried form in Thailand and they were actually pretty decent... but I don't know if I would have eaten them if I knew they looked like that. :P

Re: Apple are being even bigger dicks now
Yeah, if they keep this up, they're really going to screw themselves when something better comes along. Ordinarily, they might be able to rely on brand loyalty to retain a lot of developers even if something slightly better comes along, but at this point I gleefully welcome something better. I am ac...
