Re: A possible glimpse into the future
What happens when you lose power? Fuck, my bathroom mirror is stuck on a freeze frame of the weather and I can't open the damn fridge. That would fucking suck! "Honey, can you bring me some orange juice?"........"No...the fridge is frozen." But i rather do like the concept of it...

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since I posted on here last. I tried to find via search/advanced search a post with Java books, but alas I did not succeed. If anyone would supply me with some adequate books for beginners I would be very grateful. I apologize, I know that post like this h...

Divx web player help
Alrighty, so I haven't posted here in a bit, and it feels nice to. Well I have run into a little problem while I was trying to remake my old website server. I was hosting some videos on it, using divx to play them right on my site. Well now they won't work, and say "Cannot download, check inter...

Re: Vb6 and winsock...
Edit. I found a vb6 class module online that someone created to replace winsock. It has much the same syntax, and it doesn't have any dependencies, so I am going to try and convert my program to it, and see if it works. It's call Unisock, found it on http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?p=3799361 ...

Vb6 and winsock...
Well I finally started coding again, but wanted to start with something easy, and not to difficult. Work my way up. Well I made a vb6 winsock control chat that I thought I could use on other computers...Apparently the computers I was gonna chat on don't have mswinsck.ocx, and I can't install it. Is ...

Re: ARhrrrr - An augmented reality shooter
I just stumbled across this article on Augmented Reality and Contact Lenses. This is pretty crazy stuff. And, hell yeah - we're one step closer to having x-ray vision! http://xrayvision.today.com/files/2009/02/superman-x-ray-vision-lois-lane.jpg http://spectrum.ieee.org/biomedical/bionics/augmented...

Re: What Should I use to start??
Hey everyone, I'm the guy that he's gonna be working with. I really didn't know if he should start with c++ lue or anything. So we both want to work on 2d tile based games, what should we BOTH be learning. I'm learning C++ I recommend he does the same. With both of you learning the same language it...

Re: What Should I use to start??
I don't want to start a procedural vs. OO debate here though so I'll keep my mouth shut :) . I don't either, I was just trying to say that you don't have to learn C to learn C++. It won't give you any advantage because you can learn C++ directly. I.e. why should I bother learning to use printf and ...
