What are your views on abortion?

I'm at school and well... bored

Anyway, Whiggas, what are your views?

Is it wrong to abort a child? Is it right?

I think it's admissable in special circumstances. I can see where a girl would be mentally disturbed (possibly seriously) by having the child of the person who raped her, for example. Although I do see the flip side as well, where "it's not the child's fault" etc, I don't think it's worth the potential damage that it could cause to both the child and mother in that sort of case.

Now if a child is had through the mother being irresponsible, there's adoption for that, if she really wants to get rid of it. ("It." How inhumane, I suppose.)

Yeah... But, it can be done whether it's legal or not. And it's a harder, I would guess, to find out if a mother killed her unborn fetus with a coat hanger and flushed it than it is to find a dead body. Legalizing it prevents that, but it also has the side effect of more abortions.

I agree -- Abortion is in no case good or right. But in some cases, whether you like it or not -- it is just the right thing to do.
