I think that you're the first guy I have heard say that. I agree.
Not to be a fanboy but the Dreamcast had an
impressive launch to say the least. It had Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, NFL 2000, House of the Dead 2, Powerstone, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Bass Fishing, Sega Rally 2, and a whole lot more.
You can't dispute that either, I'm getting this straight from a DC mag at launch.
Not only that, but I'm sick of people saying all of the stuff the Xbox has done better than the DC at launch. Lets start looking at some of the facts.
1) The DC was
alot and I mean a
lot more impressive at launch. People were still playing PSones and N64s. The DC was a revolutionary peice of hardware that allowed online play and crazy shit with VMUs. The jump from the current gen to the next gen is nowhere near as radical as the one the DC presented.
2) Whether you like it or not M$ is not a very good first party developer. Yes, they have Halo. Oh, and they have Halo. Did I mention Halo? Sega was
undeniably on a roll with the Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Chu Chu Rocket, Puyo Pop Fever, Phantasy Star online V1 and V2, Samba De Amigo, Shenmue, Shenmue II, Virtua Fighter, and many, many more. Those are all regarded as A+ quality games.
You can fight it all you want, but DC had one of the most successful (maybe the most successful, but I won't be that arrogant because I can't confirm that) launch to date. It wasn't until Sony started their PS2 propaganda that the reign of the DC began to decline.
