Because college fucking rocks.
I get Fridays off, I get to sleep till the crack of noon, I don't have to show up for classes, there's plenty enough squared hawt women to go around, and I basically get to do whatever the hell I want.

Every college is different--every class in every college is different. You'll find classes where the professor doesn't care if you show up for anything but the tests/final. It's no skin of their back. You'll find classes where if you're tardy too much you'll fail.JS Lemming wrote:What kind of baby classes are you taking that don't require you to show up. I know of proffesors that would lower your grade by a letter for not showing up... or something. Maybe I just made that up. I don't know.
Has nothing to do with how good/bad/advanced the class is, has everything to do with the teachers' attitudes.

3/4 of my instructors said that they don't give a damn. I've officially been to every class. My calculus instructor (which is the highest level freshman class available (1/100 students make it there as a freshman)) teacher said he didn't give a damn. That's a lot less baby than your "AP wanna-be-college-but-not-quite-lol Calculus." Another is Electrical Engineering 101. This is no baby class. Every aspiring Computer/Electrical/Optical Engineer must take this class. It's an intro the field. The final class is CPE 112. This is an intro to C++/Unix programming class. It's required for Software Engineers/Computer Engineers/Computer Science majors. It's not exactly kiddie, it's just that I've been doing it for 5 years now.DJ Yoshi wrote:Every college is different--every class in every college is different. The one that actually cares if I don't come is English 101. Don't tell me that they only care, because it's a serious class. Everybody in there is an engineer major who couldn't give less of a shit about English.

Uhhh... no. That's impossible. There's no way to get out of English. Unless you take AP English, every student must take English 101 and 102. Whoever told you that had no idea what they were talking about. I made like a 33 or 34 on the English portion. It's math that you can advance higher with a good ACT score. 32 and up for math on ACT and you're in calculus.JS Lemming wrote:Yeah, Luckily I won't have to take English cause of my ACT scores... I hate english so much.
Sorry buddy, but you have 2 years of English like everybody else.

They were mistaken, or you were. AP English is the only way to get it marked off for you, that or concurrent credit. ACTs don't give you any credit towards anything.JS Lemming wrote:Errr... I don't know what to tell you. I've already talked to them. They say I don't have to take English because of my ACT scores. I'm taking AP English now anyway so it really doesn't matter.

He's right. I think you might be mistaken. ACT's get you out of remedial classes like Chem 003 and English 00whatever. Those classes don't give you credit anyway. ACTs don't give you credits. You better talk to them again, because that's seriously screwed up.DJ Yoshi wrote:They were mistaken, or you were. AP English is the only way to get it marked off for you, that or concurrent credit. Just make sure that you get over a 3 I think it is with AP English? If you don't, English 101 is a joke. Don't even worry about it. We haven't done anything yet. The teacher has gone over the rubric for two class meetings and we got out 20 minutes early both times.
