So... Anybody doing anything?
Anybody still program and work on projects? I haven't programmed in no telling how many months. I don't have the time or will. I guess everyone else is the same way. I kinda miss the old days though.

Actually, yes, I've just announced a new project a few days ago. Full details will be posted in a new topic soon, but it's a large project, I'll tell you that.
It's going to be in C++ using SDL, and thus far I've got two programmers with a possible third, a team of graphical designers that consists of 3 people atm, a group of concept/game plays designers with about another 3 people. I only declared the development of this game a few days ago, though I've been thinking about its creation for quit some time now. Therefore, the teams aren't fully established yet, and there is currently nobody working on sound effects/music. Anybody here interested in a position, please PM me.
I intend to speak to the 3d modeling class at my school for possible recruits; though the game is not going to be 3d, they will be able to supply us with 3d sprites that would do very nicely as icons and buildings because of the way we decided to angle the graphics in the game. The 3d modeling class is very large, and I've worked with a few of them before, so I'm confident I'll be able to get everybody I need.
ATM, my computer is undergoing major maintenance ((new HD, formatting old one, maybe new power supply, new wireless hub, etc.)) and thus, I haven't had a chance to actually begin the main engine of the game. However, despite me only having announced it a few days ago, I've already discussed it with the programming class I teach, and a few talented individuals decided to help. Already, we had a user-interface design that I am VERY pleased with, and our head graphical artist had already begun creating it. It's in a very crude form, and I'll post pics sometime tomorrow when I get more time to tell you my ideas/details/hopes for the game.
Essentially, I got tired of only deving in school when I teach my class, and decided that it was time to start a new project. Only this time, I was tired of learner projects, so I decided I want to make a serious one and focus more on design and game play that the programming--And to do this, I'm trying to get as many people working with me as possible to keep up motivation as well as overall work production.
I also know that now many of you folks on the forums haven’t had much going on Dev-wise. This may just be your chance to finally do something productive, and with a real team of real individuals, you may just find yourself with the motivation you so desperately lack in your development. We're asking ANYONE who wished to help ((oh yes, there's PLENTY to do)) to contact me asap. Again, details about the actual game with be posted later.
Also, I'm soon going to have the members of the programming class I teach join the forums so we can discuss the game on here--It'll be an open thread for all to read, and maybe, just maybe, it'll give the forums some of its much needed popularity and life back.
Wish me luck.
