My Music
Yo! I'm new here!
I'm a music composer and producer from the UK. I've been doing this for about a year now, and I think it's about time I put my music out there. I've only got a couple of demos to show at the moment, but they're just ideas. I could really do with some feedback. By the way, I've ripped these from a CD, and the format doesn't support stream play on my computer. You might need to save the file before you can open it.

Thanks!
Thomas

Actually, these are just some originals. I try to expose myself to as many genres as I can, but electronic music is my forte. I do believe you're composing the music for this game, are you not? Just out of interest, how do you intend on incorporating the music into the game? Audio, MIDI? What can we expect from the music and sound for this game? Also, I do a lot of sound design, so if you're ever in need of a sound designer, I'll do it for free.
I like the first one, but I don't think the second one matches it in quality.
The end of the second is nice, however.
So what's the purpose of these tracks? Where would you imagine them being played? I can't accurately rate a composition without some kind of context. If you're just asking me about my music taste, that's one thing. But if you're asking me if it fits in with the mood and feeling of, say, a game or movie, then I'd be able to judge it more fairly.

Hey, Arce!
Thanks for your comments! This is just me showing off my technical skills. I don’t think this style of music would suit a video game, certainly not an RPG. If you ask me, there doesn’t seem to be a place for electronic music in video games these days. I would love to compose music for video games, so I compose a variety of styles, but electronic music is the style that I favour most.

That’s a good point. Well, my aim is to get into the video game industry, therefore I would prefer to receive feedback from those who already work for the video game industry. I plan to submit some orchestral compositions in the future, but for now, I just want to let people know what I do and what I hope to do. As I said, I do a lot of sound design as well, and to some extent, these compositions demonstrate that. I’m not here to promote my music, just to get some relevant feedback. You know, I get the best feedback from people who don’t compose music, so that’s another reason I don’t ask for feedback on DJ forums.cypher1554R wrote:How come did you decide to show your music to us, instead of promoting it on DJ forums, or something like that..?

Judging from the shape of my lips, and the direction I'm looking at.. I wouldn't say I'm abut to do something to myself..
... balck..? what's that..? :?
I wouldn't mind you promoting your music, I'd just think it's a not-so-good-place to do that.. you know.. the last place that someone influential would look for talent.. :DThomas wrote:I’m not here to promote my music, just to get some relevant feedback.
As for relevant feedback.. It just so happens that I'm a producer myself. I'm not sure if this helps, but here goes..
Judging from the 2 examples provided, I can't say much. Reason: What you gave here are 2' ideas' for tracks yet to be developed. Just because you can make something sound cool, does not qualify. You have to be able to put the whole thing together.
Both examples sound good, they are listenable and have the potential becoming something that you can hear in a club.
Thanks!
That’s the sort of response I expect. I’ve already been offered a contract with a record label, so I do believe that I have the potential to get into the music industry. But, like I said, my primary focus at the moment is to get into the video game industry. Of course, I’ll submit some complete compositions later if you’re prepared to give your comments. Oh, by the way, I don’t believe in talent. Anyway, if people aren’t prepared to give their comments on my compositions, then I’ll consider showcasing it elsewhere. But, I’ll see what happens. Thanks again!
