J-Force Games
So what do you guys think of teh http://youtube.com/user/jforcegames (Making of the best indie game ever)?
It's clearly a spoof. Seeing that two of the guys in there are brothers as well, it made me think that my sister Rose and I should spoof this spoof as well. ;P
I don't really find the videos funny at all. They're kind of obnoxious, imo.
>Falco and I are way more leet than those guys because we use C++.

I have a little sister. She's 6. :D Imagine that spoof..
As for jforce. Hm.. I don't know.. Yeah, they seem to be screwing around, but I can also see some work getting done.. Maybe it's just how they roll. I'm not excluding the spoof possibility in any case
PS: One really funny thing is what the team is made of..
The only 1 adding to the team seems to be the programmer, and maybe artist.. If he did anything.. And here's the funny thing: "There's 5 guys in the team" -> From here I can come to one of 3 conclusions:
1) The programmer and artist are game making machines, and will get the game done meeting the criteria "the best indie game ever". (this is the most naive.. If you ask why, I'll punch in the stomach over the line.)
2) The programmer and artist THINK that they are game making machines, and are not likely to get the game done meeting the criteria "the best indie game ever", but still something decent.. (this is very possible)
3) It's a spoof. (this is very possible as well)

Their team architecture makes me wonder how experienced they are. It really does seem to me that the programmer is doing everything. Maybe the artist is doing a bit, but the "marketter," "tester," and "black guy" really show that the majority of them are very ignorant to what is involved with creating a game.

Re: Spoof of Adventures in Game Development...
did you see what they said about yall? this was in the commets for ep 2:
HA!And about Gyrovorbis: are they even selling their game? Either way, no offense to them, but I'm going to guarantee that our game will be a bigger success than their game, in every way imaginable- sales, reviews, awards, popularity, playerbase, etc.
best indie game ever coming soon
Re: Spoof of Adventures in Game Development...
Ha, I missed that. He sent every member of the team a friend request ages ago, so I just assumed we were cool...xDpatio wrote:did you see what they said about yall? this was in the commets for ep 2:

Also, I recognize you from his channel--you're the dude who posted just about everything that was on my mind. ;P
Welcome to the forums.

Wow, the latest episode with concept art is such a waste of time.patio wrote:did you see what they said about yall? this was in the commets for ep 2:

So far their game is pretty generic.
My boyfriend (exboyfriend? I think we're broken up atm. o_o) and I are wanting to make a game together. I'm hoping I can convince him to do XNA so we can make something potentially for xbox. Seems like he wants to use OpenGL, though.

I don't think we're selling the game.
Are we?
Are we?
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

No. And I really, really doubt that they are either.

Re: Spoof of Adventures in Game Development...
I was thinking that someday in the far future if everybody agreed, we could release some sort of master version or something. A pressed CD that boots on Dreamcast and also has the PC build on it. A CD with the OST. A DVD with the dev videos. Then a fancy instruction manual with autographs and concept art and letters from the creators or something. But the game itself would be free. They'd be paying for goodies.
...and I'd really want to make sure the goodies would be worth their while.
edit: I don't want people to say "I'd buy it... but I'm just going to download it." They'd have to say "Goddamn, I want all the extras!!"

That'd be neat. When we get that far we can consider it. :)
