Anyone else agree that Clerks II summed up Lord of the Rings perfectly?
"9 hours of walking...even the trees walked"
zackly.
I hear that!
I don't get peoples fascination with that series of films... I do however get this forums fascination with women wearing tight sweater dresses

I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!

I wander what programming language anakin skywalker used to program C3-PO's AI back on tatooine? my guess is Jawa :P
Well,i'm only giving my opinion, I like Star Wars, to be honest I haven't seen all of the indiana jones films, nor the complete lord of the rings series.
But from what I have seen, I haven't really liked, I study media so I get that the first film was setting up the story, giving the main characters a goal, and introducing some of the enemies, but filmmakers tend to abuse this right (IMO) They make a really lame first film, then kind of expect us to go and see the sequels with the hope that they are good (the Golden Compass has done it, and I won't be watching the sequel)
This is just what I think, and once again, Star Wars is a classic, and the first film (by which I mean the 4th) is a huge contradiction to my statement, the first film is action-packed, and so are the sequels, if you compare star wars: a new hope to lord of the rings: TFoTR you'll understand what i'm getting at.

I completely disagree. The Fellowship of the Ring was the best movie of the series by far.

I agree! Those movies made Harrison Ford my biggest hero ever. I can't even tell you how many dates have ended with me showing girls Raiders of the Lost Ark because they have never even heard of Indiana Jones. Everything pulls together so well.
And on Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I like it a lot. I don't see it as part of the original trilogy at all, but rather a tribute to those films and what they were. And when you look at it like that it a great tribute.
i was content on calling it the indiana jones TRILOGY.
they fucked it up for me. and that little fuck is not even indy material. he is a little shit.
as for dating a girl that doesent know the indy movies. thats like dating a liberal. i just aint gonna do it.
Some person, "I have a black belt in karate"
Dad, "Yea well I have a fan belt in street fighting"
I will have to watch the indy quadrilogy one day, I really enjoyed the first film in the series, and you can't beat a score from John Williams, the films he does sound tracks for usually sound fantastic!
As for expanding films past their 'trilogy' status, I think it can be good and bad, it depends if the directors/writers/producers come up with a fresh and interesting concept for a film, I mean I watched Die Hard 4.0 (it has a different name in the US) and it was pretty good, but i'm into that sort of thing, as for indiana jones, I couldn't see the film being awful, because you can't go wrong with harrison ford... or can you?
