Perler Bead Sprites
A few years ago, I read an article in EGM about people making video game sprites out of Perler beads, and I got inspired...
They're basically these little cylindrical beads that you put on a pegboard and iron together. Anyways, I was bored and it sounded like fun. I haven't made any in a year or so, but here are some of the ones I made:
(btw, to get a sense of scale, Megaman is about 12 inches tall)

Wow! Those are REALLY impressive! I used to have one of those when I was young. I never made anything cool like video game characters, but I would make weird designs for coasters and such.
Re: Perler Bead Sprites
I haven't seen those in years, and YEARS. I just may have to go pick some up sometime now

Yeah, my wife gives me plenty of shit for making stuff outta beads...and I really can't blame her. I dunno, there's just something cool about having tangible pixels.
Anyways, she was more receptive once I made her an Alex Kidd - that's her favorite SMS game.

Though are really neat, they must look amazing in real life. (especially if megaman is a foot tall!)

Here's something similar, only using stitching instead:

There's even more cool ones in the rest of the forum!

Hahaha! All that you have to do is remind her how well the Master System sold against the NES.trufun202 wrote:Yeah, my wife gives me plenty of shit for making stuff outta beads...
...wait, don't do that. You won't get any for a month. Don't you love how they can dish it out, but they can never take it?

I think that would result in, "Fuck you dude, why don't you just go make a ZELDA clone!?!?" :P

With Megaman's size, might even cause instant prolapse.trufun202 wrote:Just watch out for Buttsects Man...cypher1554R wrote:That's epic. *Pulls front part of pants forward and looks down* I'm gonna call you Megaman from now on.trufun202 wrote:(btw, to get a sense of scale, Megaman is about 12 inches tall)
My bad.. This time the topic was turned into standard routine crap thanks to me. I'm sorry.
The sprites are really impressive tho. Good job!
