Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!

My plans for dev videos are always secret until the day the video is released. Only the team in the secret dev forum gets to hear about my schemes. ;)

So I got an email today from Youtube. Apparently Chapter 5's use of "The Impression That I Get" was a copyright infringement. Don't worry, though. We're working on "remastering" it with commentary, a new track, and newly recorded additional footage as we look back at the project from a year ago. If you have already seen Chapter 5, you will want to see it again.

Not sure. I filed a dispute with Youtube, on account of doing a search for "Mighty Mighty Bosstones" or "Impression that I Get" yields at least 10+ other fuckers who are using the ENTIRE song and/or music video without permission.

They are just hating on us, because we're popular.

Yeah youtube is all we're gonna hate on the cool people cause they are using fowl language
But whatever they don't know what the masses want.... We programmers need heros, but youtube is hating you guys for trying something new, I'm just glad you guy are complieing and fighting at the same time... Calling people names and making threats while obeying seems to always work for me...
anyway I'm just getting angry at youtube they have been kinda off on their decisions lately... [/rant]

Edit: You didn't say when or if the video would be out, a nice guestamate would be cool...

That really bums me out, cuz "The Impression That I Get" was kinda like the AiGD theme song.. :( As I mentioned on YouTube, I've been tempted to use that in one of my videos, simply as a tribute to you guys.

If they were smart, they'd realize that the use of their song in your videos has only increased their popularity, because it actually made me go search for other Mighty Mighty Bosstones songs - all of which I thought were awesome.

Oh well, can't wait for the Chapter 5 Remix. ;)

Good luck with the dispute filing, but I doubt it'll get you anywhere. They don't care, they're in charge and they'll step on whomever they want unfortunately.

AiGD got me into Julian-K, I lost track of Orgy after their 2nd cd and now maestro is one of my favorite songs. :D

Chapter 11 Part 1 was flagged for using "Opticon" by Orgy.

Are you sure it's not a viewer/enemy flagging them...?
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Could it be BJ.

But it doesn't add up, why wait till now to start flagging vids? Why didn't he do it way back when everything kicked off?

It's definitely not BJ. Might be Sepfusion.

It's some other dipshit. Either that, or it is an actual record company. Either way, my use of them constitutes "fair use." I'm sticking to my guns, and they can blow me.

I'm disputing both, and in the meantime both Chapter 5 and 11 are still up and running. :)
