SDL or Allegro?

SDL or Allegro?
Ok, well I haven't been around the forums in quite some time, I admit I jumped into this programming thing a wrongly...I tried to get all the knowledge I could before starting programming...and lost interest...But I'm back with full force, and I'm going to start learning either SDL or Allegro. My question is...which is better to use (obviously its an opinion, so give me YOUR opinions). Anyways, Thanks for the help!
EDIT: Oh and just some info that might help...I do plan on learning OpenGL, I got the OpenGL SuperBible as a gift for Christmas (the book is so huge the paper spine cannot support it lulz...Well DUCKTAPE FIXES ANYTHING) Anyways...I'm pretty sure to actually make a game with OpenGL, you'd need to combine it with other APIs/Libraries? And since I always am hearing that SDL does 3D graphics via OpenGL (or something like that) I would assume SDL would be the best choice? But I want to be REAL sure

Just to make things even and add further difficulty to your decision :P If you search the forums there's already a post with this exact question and everyone's opinions. I recommend you search for it.
EDIT: http://thechaosrift.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2673 Found it for you

I vote SDL, it works like I do *tooth sparkles*

I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!

And now a joke to lighten to mood :D
I wander what programming language anakin skywalker used to program C3-PO's AI back on tatooine? my guess is Jawa :P

Yeah, it got my vote too...I've been going through Lazyfoo's tutorials...and continuing my C++ quest. I didn't really like the tutorials for allegro that I found, most of them seemed to be in a different language =(.GyroVorbis wrote:SDL gets my vote.

Haven't used or looked at Allegro, so I can't say.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

And sparda also sleeps with SFML on the side.
