Menu
Ok, I'm only a noob really when it comes to making games (doing it for three years, but only in game maker) so I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to make a menu? i.e. items, etc.

Re: Menu
Be more specific...
You don't just make menus... what language are you using, etc.
Using OpenGL, SDL, DirectX, etc.
Things like that...

Also if you're using C++, Java, C#, XNA (or are they both the same thing?), BlitzPlus, DarkBasic, etc...[/quote]
I think XNA is just a libary for C#

Not that I have anything against it; game maker just isn't "manly".

If you want a Game Maker menu then you should probably be more specific as to what you want... instead of
I want a menu help me make one

Never mind, and thanks anyway. I can't believe I sparked such a big debate.

Re: Menu
Sorry, Game Maker's not something I have any experience with, so I couldn't help you make a menu with it. A basic menu involves advancing an index through a list of options when the player pushes a certain key, so if there's any scripting, you could do it that way. Although I sort of find it hard that something called "game maker" doesn't come with a built-in menu tool.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Haha don't mind Ginto and eatcomics.. they're both just being jokesters. They can find a way to debate pretty much any topic you can think of so don't take it personally.Ratstail91 wrote: Never mind, and thanks anyway. I can't believe I sparked such a big debate.
Like marauder said many of us don't have much (if any at all) experience with GameMaker, but if anyone here does I'm sure they'll do their best to help.
Try googling "Game Maker Menus" or something of the sort, also maybe this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRoMj0eVd_w will help?
