Is the PS2 Dead?
Okay, so my parents aren't very big on getting me things, so I'm stuck with a Nintendo DS, and a GameCube. I have been wondering lately if I should step it up to a better console, but there is no WAY i'm getting a PS3 or an xbox360. (wii sucks. nuff said). Should I get a PS2 now, considering they have thousands of games, and they are all really cheap. Also, the console itself is $50 used.
FIFTY DOLLARS! FOR AN AMAZING CONSOLE!
So, the bottom line is: "Should I get a PS2, or should I wait for something else to come thats games aren't more than the system itself?"

The best thing about UDP jokes is that I don’t care if you get them or not.

The PS2 is very much still alive, unlike the Xbox
They are still releasing games for it, but you should defiantly get a PS3 when you can.

First of all, the big games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, etc, are still getting PS2 ports.
Second of all, the PS2 had BY FAR the biggest, and best game library or anything from the previous generation. That's not an opinion, any gamer would admit to it.
You can't go wrong with a PS2.

Re: Is the PS2 Dead?
okay. I have 200 somethin bucks(I'm 13), so it's not gonna be a big chunk out of my wallet. Unlike the Xbox 360, where each game would make me need to babysit for... 8 hours.

PS2s don't cost that much now so you should be able to buy one for around $200.ibly31 wrote:okay. I have 200 somethin bucks(I'm 13), so it's not gonna be a big chunk out of my wallet. Unlike the Xbox 360, where each game would make me need to babysit for... 8 hours.
Plus you got free online play for games that support it still

Fifty bucks, says OP.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

games are 60 on average. So you are babysitting for 5 bucks an hour???? Minimum wage is 7 something, you should change your rates.

Depends on the state. Apparently federal minimum wage is currently $6.55 but goes up to $7.15 later this year. Some states are still at $5.15.bulls.bears2011 wrote:games are 60 on average. So you are babysitting for 5 bucks an hour???? Minimum wage is 7 something, you should change your rates. :)

Re: Is the PS2 Dead?
Even we admit our PS2 ports are totally nerfed though.GyroVorbis wrote:First of all, the big games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, etc, are still getting PS2 ports.
But PS2 certainly has an absolutely amazing library, and it's even gone open platform recently, so there are probably some indie games yet to come.
It's mainstream popularity is undeniably fading, but if you've never owned the console, you've already missed out on so many great games, the next generation console will already be out by the time you've gone through half of them. On top of that, there are plenty of good PS1 games to check out, and those would be even cheaper.

Original Post, i think.Wtf is the OP?
The novice realizes that the difference between code and data is trivial. The expert realizes that all code is data. And the true master realizes that all data is code.

Usually used as "original poster" though, as opposed to "original post."
Hence, "says the OP" or "OP here" - which you might find on anonymous boards, for instance.
