That port there was actually compiled in C++ for Flash; using Adobe alchemy. I guess this means you could in theory develop full Flash games without ever learning any Actionscript.

I only just picked up flash again yesterday. I've used it many times for very simple animations but I've never used it to make a game more advanced than click games. For example I had made duck hunt, missile command, and the intercept game from the super scope 6.
I'm trying to finish a crazy animation I started ages ago and couldn't finish because I didn't have a computer. Problem is I'm using a new version of Flash now and there are several things that are pissing me off and making it hard get this finished. That and I have to remember what I was doing last and sort out what everything is being used for. Not an easy task when you have 900+ Sprites, sounds and animations you need to compile into one silly movie.
Still it's a pretty cool program and I've seen people make some impressive games with it.
