Thank you all for the great feedback!
The game has changed immensely since the original screen shot. I have a few screenshots of the current state of the game below. I also must ask another very important question...
If you were browsing around on the net and came across this game, would you consider paying 2-5 dollars for it?
New screen shots:

New project: PrototypeD
What are your initial reactions?

Re: PrototypeD
Not sure what objective is. Looks like you have to protect the white Core thing in the center, your stuck inside some little maze and enemies are spawning trying to kill you and the core shield. core charge powers up and you can upgrade and create units.
The GUI is huge and an eye sore, too much text and buttons, needs to be more user friendly.
Textures and models look great, although the characters are too small in this screen shot to see what they are, I see werewolves or medieval grunts with maces?
I don't know what else to make of this 1 screen shot.
Can you provide any details?

Re: PrototypeD
Can you condense your repeated buttons into one long button? I agree that the UI is sort of eh; mostly because of the repetition in it.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Re: PrototypeD
I think you should do short cut keys for all those buttons...
Re: PrototypeD

Re: PrototypeD
Can you tell us more about it? We're running on guesswork here.
It looks pretty damn sick imo
Art needs more contrast between the background and the units and such, it's kinda hard on the eyes.

Right, it does look like a nice start :)

Re: PrototypeD
Thanks for all the replies! Yes, it is a Tower Defense game. I'll be updating this thread soon with more information and screenshots. The game has changed a lot since that pic.
More info coming soon... maybe even a beta.

Re: PrototypeD
Looks damn sweet to me. Agreed that you don't want too many buttons, perhaps make the Focus Fire ones into 3 sliders for light, medium and heavy?
Also wondering how distinguishable the players and enemies will be from the background. They seem to blend in a bit too much, but that could just be the screenshot.
Otherwise it looks ace..can't wait for the beta

They pull out the truncheon, that's when the trouble starts.

I wouldn't buy it. Then again, I don't really like these types of games.

Re: PrototypeD / TerranCore [ Updated: 5.29.09 ]
the ball/nodes are the towers right?? and its a tower defense, well if you change the GUI ( REASON: It's extremely repetitive and not very explanatory)
when i get on StarCraft i mostly play tower defenses
and when i get on WarCraft II and III i always play tower defenses haha
i would DEFINITELY buy this game for 5$ i have always been a HUGE fan of tower defense games
once its done you can definitely see me buying it
looks good by the way
EDIT:
Oh and by the way, question, are you able to build the walls? or are they setup for each level already?
and another, do the nodes block enemies? if i was to build a maze of them would the enemies walk around them or passed them?

I woulnd't buy it because it doesn't look like the kind of game that would be fun :P I'd probably buy it for $1 though just because it would entertain me for a little while.
I imagine that's only because I don't like TD games that much and because the internet is swamped with hundreds of them for free.
Looks really professional though. I don't mean any offense by what I said
