ahh yes my mom bought me this game... long ago, it was fun but then we ended up with over 3000 viruses and basically had our pc wiped clean of everything except music and pixChaos Clown wrote:If you're into Star Wars, then Star Wars: Glactic Battlegrounds is pretty good. It runs on the same engine as AOE2, and its specs are stupidly low. It's quite old now too, so you might struggle to pick it up, but if you do, it'll be dirt cheap. Also, grab the expansion pack: 2 extra factions, some super powerful new units, and the explosions look prettier. Aside from that, and Age of Empires, I don't play a lot of RTS games, so I dunno what else to reccomend.

But anyway, shouldn't you be working on a level editor instead of playing RTS's?

I fixed this by changing from rendering with directx 9 to 7... an the game is freaking awesome, but I can only get to level 8 cause I havn't registered it, I should have brought the box so I could do that this weekendeatcomics wrote:First time I played it it was all pink and funky colors... If you want a laugh get a copy of Lords of Everquest. Warcraft converted well to an mmorpg, Everquest doesn't work well as an RTS. As for something that's a bit better, try any of the Warlords: Battlecry games. Some mmorts games don't completely suck. Boundless Planet is okay, it was a lot better when it was free and Ballerium had potential until it tanked.

Re: Reccomend an RTS?
If you want a real treat I highly recommend Savage 2. Its an RPG / FPS / RTS all combined into one game. To give you a better idea its pretty much an RTS where one person, the commander, creates buildings, buffs units, and anything else you would do in an RTS. The only difference is that the units are actual players that play in a first person mode.Arce wrote:For those of you who don't already know, I'm a large RTS fan.
My absolute favorite title is Starcraft: Broodwar, though I highly enjoy Command and Conquer, Warcraft, and Age of Empires.
However...I'm interested in picking up a new title...Preferably with decent multiplayer LAN capabilities.
Any suggestions? ;p
Also, the lower PC specs the better. I have a pure shit gfx card.
Its a great game worth checking out, the learning curve is steep but its worthwhile. Also its free unless you want an upgraded account which only costs about $10.

I'll vouch that. I didn't get real into it, but it was definitely fun.Bludklok wrote: If you want a real treat I highly recommend Savage 2.

Cool. It sounds exactly like an old Microsoft game called Allegiance.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.
