ZOMG, FATHERHOOD
It's official, Mrs. Trufun is...Captain Preggo! We've been married for 4 years and together for 10, so we figured it was about time. She's only about a month along, so she's due sometime around Christmas. This is gonna be our first, and my wife and I are both the youngest in our family - so neither one of has a clue on how to take care of a baby. We have 3 dogs, but that's different...you can put dogs in a cage and just leave the house... Needless to say, I have much studying to do.
So anyways, what does this mean for Golvellius? Well, my ass needs to get to work! My plan is to get the engine to a point where I can easily drop in content and script things out. This includes a level editor and some seriously beefed up Lua exposure. This will be my focus from this point forward. I'm also putting the finishing touches on Bop N' Pop 360, which should be coming in the next couple of months.
Wish me luck, I'm scared shitless!

Wow, I don't really know what to say. Congratulations on your future little bundle of joy! But I will agree, before that can happen, YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ASS ON GOLVELLIUS! I can see you easily creating content for the game with a child, but designing the hardcore aspects of the engine while taking care of a child might suck.
Glad to hear of the progress, though. We'll totally be covering it on the news.
I forbid Kendall to read this topic. I don't want her to get any ideas. such as not taking that little pill every morning.

OH! And co-workers have mentioned that newborns need to eat every 2 hours throughout the night...and it takes an hour and a half to feed them, change them, and get them back to bed. That leaves a wopping 30 minutes of sleep before the next feeding.

Don't you wish Human babies were more like other animals, where in some cases they have to learn to walk immediately to survive? ;P

But, if they needed to learn to sleep through the night immediately for survival, I'd settle for that.

Oh lord. Babies.
Good luck with that.
Thought of any cute little names yet?
I always thought that if I had a girl I would name her Aeris, so that I wouldn't have to pretend so hard XD

That's Awesome Man! Congratulations!
I wouldn't be too scared, them babies is tougher than they seem. But yeah, expect to lose some sleep.
I actually extremely jealous. My wife and I are going on seven years now and we really want kids. We're trying to finish our educations first though and it's taking forever

Re: ZOMG, FATHERHOOD
I was thinking "Carter" if it were a boy, but a co-worker is about to have a baby with that name, so apparently its off limits.AerisAndMe wrote:Thought of any cute little names yet?

As for a girl's name, my wife has one picked out, but she won't tell me until we KNOW it's gonna be girl. lol, she told me its "none of my business" :P
Other than that...we were running through crazy ass celebrity baby names, like "Coco Cox" and "Pilot Inspector" - and I suggested the name "Eight Bit Bryant"
Needless to say, my naming privileges have been temporarily suspended.

I'm not surprised. Can you imagine the flak he'd get in the 128-bit era? Haha.trufun202 wrote:I suggested the name "Eight Bit Bryant" ... Needless to say, my naming privileges have been temporarily suspended.
