Woot My Very First Sprite From Scratch
Its a heart in honor of mothers day...
First the basic heart was made in Photoshop cs3 and got sick of the lack of the grid so finished it with paint
I didnt use that gradient tool thing

Your hearts dosent look worn out, so i guess the gardient tool could have been used here. But they look very nice anyway, and im sure you have learnt something by doing it by hand :DScoody wrote:The gradient tool is evilwearymemory wrote:You probably should have.davidthefat wrote:I didnt use that gradient tool thing

I think its because the changes between the colors were very subtleismetteren wrote:Your hearts dosent look worn out, so i guess the gardient tool could have been used here. That wasn't the point that I was trying to make. The gradient tool would have probably done it better and faster, but either way, it's quite poor.Scoody wrote:The gradient tool is evil
Re: Woot My Very First Sprite From Scratch
Not bad for a first attempt. For your next perhaps go a little more ambitious. Maybe an emoticon or if you're feeling saucy a FF1 style character.

Re: Woot My Very First Sprite From Scratch
with pixel art it's important not to save as a .jpeg, it might be your image provider, but either way .gif and .png are both lossless image formats that you should use so not to ruin your work.
Everybody has to start somewhere. I don't give you crap for what looks to be your first attempt at tact.but either way, it's quite poor.

That may be true, to you. But I believe that poor work, is pork!zeid wrote:with pixel art it's important not to save as a .jpeg, it might be your image provider, but either way .gif and .png are both lossless image formats that you should use so not to ruin your work.

You obviously either have never done any art or you're an arrogant assholewearymemory wrote:That wasn't the point that I was trying to make. The gradient tool would have probably done it better and faster, but either way, it's quite poor.Scoody wrote:The gradient tool is evil

Perhaps there'd be less flames if you said why you thought it was poor.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Of course it could be better, art can always be improved, but for a first attempt I give you a 9/10 for effort. Keep working on it.

I never said that I was any better, so I don't know how you could assume that I am arrogant, thejahooli.
Edit: My advice, I'm sure, would be nothing compared to the advice that tutorials, or those such as zeid, could give.
