Swagbucks, get free things for searching.

Random irrelevance that just didn't fit into other forums. Talk about anything.

Swagbucks, get free things for searching.

Post by Bludklok »

Ok some of you may already know about Swagbucks but I've just recently learned about it today. Swagbucks is a google powered search engine that rewards you with points as you search. These points are spendable on a wide variety of prizes. When a friend told me about this I checked out some youtube videos, browsed around on google a little bit, and from what I can tell they seem pretty legit.

How this works is company's pay SB money in return for ads. The money that SB gets is spent on the prizes.

Now if your interested any use the link at the bottom of this post to sign up for SB. By doing so you will be added to my friends list which rewards me with points every time you gain points and vice versa so its a win-win situation. Plus once your signed up you could send your referral link to some of your friends and viola more points. A couple FAQ's that i've learned about SB though...
  • Its highly unlikely that you will win points more then once in an hour.
  • You can only win points around 4 or 5 times a day.
  • Spamming the search engine wont help your chances of getting more points.
  • Don't waste your time trying to find hacks or bots to get free points. They don't exist nor would they work.
  • The search engine itself is crap. Just grab your points and go. :|
Your best bet of getting points is to use the search engine up to 20 times (your guaranteed to win points in the first 20 searches I believe) when you log on your computer, use it again sometime later in the day, then once again before you log off. Over time your points will accumulate.

Theres a crapload of SB prize unboxings out on youtube showcasing things acquired from SB. Its up to you to decide the legitimacy of them (they seem pretty real to me :D).

Anyways...Heres the link to my referral page.

Thanks for the effort but I don't get anything unless you make swag bucks, sorry.

For every swag buck that one of my friends make, I get a swag buck. The limit is 100 bucks per friend though. :(

Ill be perfectly blunt in saying that the search engine itself is total crap, so why try earning points that you cant use?

I'm skeptical to say the least. I'm sure there is some sort of a 'catch'.

Mhmm. The pricing of the ads that are being put in the search engine are no doubt expensive due to the popularity of SB. The more money SB gets off of ads, the more prizes they can give away, the more popularity increases, and the more the cost of the ads are. Never ending cycle. ;)

Well, from my quick googling I found that it was legit, but it just doesn't seem worth it. It's like trying to make money in Entropia Universe. You can do it, but it is so slow that it is like wasting your time.

Annoying, hell yes. Waste of time, not so much. Taking 5-10 mins two - three times a day to do a couple searches isnt a waste of time at all. Plus if you invite a lot of people to join your friends list that just adds on to the points. Slow, yes. Worth it, ofcourse.

As did I. I now own about 1/30th of your iPod (any 30th is fine as long as it's not the headphones). ;)
