no it was not an edit. and im sure the mods can verify that.Chaotis wrote:Interesting that I read the post several times and for some reason didn't catch this, hopefully it wasn't an edit. Sorry if my missing it changed my opinion of the post somewhat, it's still not a very smart thing to make an example out of someone else that you know will see and may take offense, especially when it was obviously taken out of context.now we all do, i know i do it from time to time. we like to think the language we use is the best for friggen everything. but it just is not.
so maybe something we need to think about next time we open our big mouths.
yes, maybe i could have used more tact. but i dont see how i took it out of context, its a picture. i did not quote half her words. yes there was some text corresponding to it. but it all related to her disgust of "newbs" asking her stupid questions. the picture conveyed it, the context was not altered.
anyways. im sorry it offended her. i think she took it personal when it was not meant to be. as you can tell. im just a mean person, everyone gets a fair share.
i wonder if im in her diary...
ps: if i die... tell the cops to look at her diary..

I tried Binary once... Never attempt it unless you are a complete masochist. Haha.davidthefat wrote:I code in Binary... Wait Wut??
No but seriously, don't.

Everyone in my Computing class except me started out with VB last year. They then proceeded to fail or almost fail every exam.

Re: programmers are racist.
Being one of the members of this forum who are actually making a game in VB6, I will be one to be biased and say personally I like the language. It's simple, to the point, easy to use, and very quick to make something of decent looking quality if you happen to know what the hell you are doing.
On the other hand, you lack quite a bit of power and other specialties that other languages happen to offer, but I am sure everyone here would know this.
In the end, I don't think there is anything wrong with VB6. Rather I think the problem lies with those who swarm to it as a base language to start learning with, and lack the programming related problem solving skills to be able to do anything with it. Which seems to discourage a lot of people, and makes them more prone to asking "noob" questions. -- At least that is how it seems on other forums that I tend to visit.

Spodi, the creator of that engine is an amazing VB6 programmer. I have been using VB6 for ~3-4 years now, and to be honest, thats some of the most complex code that I have seen for Visual Basic 6.0. It is quite a work of art for this language, and I am definitely happy to be able to create anything near as awesome as that was when it first released.
