Has anyone heard of this game?
I went to Sega GameWorks this weekend and stumbled upon a little guitar-based rhythm game called Guitar Freaks. At first glance, I was like, "Wow, it a cheap knock-off of Guitar Hero, only with shitter graphics and music." But, the game was released in 1999 - 6 years before Guitar Hero!
I haven't been to an arcade in a while, so perhaps I'm just out of the loop, but I thought this was rather interesting. Guitar Hero gets so many accolades for innovation, but Konami deserves the credit.

I had heard of it (in an oxmuk podcast) but I'd never seen it running before.

never seen this, now RB/GH doesn't seem as innovative as I thought they were.
